His deputy seemed embarrassed. He stopped and told me how well I'd done, and that he felt like he'd learned a lot, then hurried after the sheriff. I'm on episode 2, and I like it, but the soundtrack is absurd. They play what should be background music at full volume. And yes, it's kind of cheesy--maybe a lot cheesy--but it's compelling, and it feels eerily prescient. Also, Sterling K. Brown is always such a good actor.

I grew up in rural Idaho because my father worked for the US Forest Service. People in my town resented the federal employees, but the USFS is also the largest employer in the county, and I don't know how that very MAGA community will survive if the USFS gets shut down or significantly reduced.

Rich and I just rewatched Severance s1, and towards the end of the season, we couldn't stop and stayed up until 3am finishing it, even though we'd already seen it before. That show is so addicting. There aren't many shows that I can binge twice.

I texted a friend that, at my job, I hardly had any time to write, so I finished my book while I was on FMLA from my hysterectomy. I wrote "lol" at the end of my sentence. She said "Lord, I'm so sorry. What a horrible thing." That was when it hit me that maybe that wasn't an "lol" kind of message.

I’m finishing the copy edit for my second book, and I told @maggiesmithpoet.bsky.social that copy editors are magic. She used to be a copy editor, and she loved it, but I said, “I’m not a copy editor. I NEED a copy editor.” She said, “I respect that.” She was also definitely laughing at me.

My bf had his wisdom teeth out on Tuesday, and today my mom sent him a message via iCloud? (Idk what that is.) The message said that she hoped he felt better. Anyway, my mom and I have the same initials, so he thought it was me and wrote back “Love you 😘.” They barely know each other.
