Palestinian, black, trans lives matter. White people chose DEI instead of adhering to Civil Rights Act altogether. We’re still dealing w/after effects of Reconstruction & longstanding, feckless liberal class unwilling to confront fascists. MMT. Punch up.

Posted this yesterday and then right after heard about the televised execution on live tv of ft hood shooter. We’re truly a miserable country right now, just a low point on the timeline. Whatever the opposite of beacon on the hill is, that’s what we are now

It’s embarrassing for America, the country, that it needed this extreme level of self obvious failures for the polling to finally reflect reality under Trump in the form of voter disapproval. failed state shit.

Line up on a wall all the various and sundry “gaffes” and missteps and lawbreaking Trump has done over the last decade during both terms, throw a dart blindfolded at the wall and whatever single thing the dart hits would surely be a career ending event in any other era under any other president.

Biden eople jumped ship after a string of bad faith inflation coverage and one, single horrendous debate. Trump has nuked all of those fails by orders of magnitude and it’s only now just showing up in the form of basement dwelling polling

What I find fascinating about this isn’t that his numbers are so low—it’s that it took this monumental scale of sheer criminality, misdeeds and corresponding societal collapse for his base to finally question, doubt, and eventually lose trust. And he still has support. Amazing.

Legacy media’s sanewashing of Trump’s campaign appearances as 'speeches' bears less and less resemblance to the reality of his verbal incontinence...Responsible coverage would highlight his mental unfitness daily, provide ample extracts of rants, and play them back: open.substack.com/pub/contrari...

Just when I thought I’d seen the most honest headline from the NYT in a while, they follow it up on the same above the fold with doozy about Trump “making the same mistake as Biden” amazing. They can’t help themselves. Everything always has to be balanced so avoid any charge if liberal Bias

It's just standard-fare, blind, ideological warfare by a political, right-wing movement that's gone off the rails. There's no strategy involved, just reactionary pathology all the way dow.

$500M illegal dollars, towards a election bribe 2 months before the midterms. Never forget Biden and his team eventually succumbed and claimed they couldn't do this without legal challenges. Just. do. stuff.

Never forget that Rufo was introduced to the world, broadly, by mainstream legacy outlets who platformed him as a reasonable, moderate, thoughtful voice of a new kind of conservatism, whose bad faith lies were framed as somehow worthy of discussion and debate. They do it every time.

Yes, there is political polarization. But what and who drives it? Who is at the driver’s seat of the vehicle? Who buys the gas and chooses the path and direction on a daily basis that creates the unsafe conditions on the road and the eventual encounters with other motorists? Start there.

Name. The. Actual. Thing. That is, name the actual content and sequence and source and locus of what has transpired. Be specific. Not doing so ellides reality and basically allows one side to avoid being held accountable for actual, material things they’ve done in an externally existing world.

Good Public Good @kelitupu.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
The fact that two sides exist n a state of hostility or enmity says nothing about the actual dynamics involved and assigns no automatic share of halfsies in terms of responsibility between the two. But conservatives and reactionary centrists get this part wrong all the time.
100
Good Public Good @kelitupu.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
This is dumb for many reasons, but the big and obvious one is, once again for the people in back, you can’t present political polarization in this country as a bothsides issue. It’s not. We have to be honest and name things as they are. Conservatives are the source of the polarization.

There are infinite pathologies associated with fascists, but a core one is that they are all, at the end of the day, fundamentally lazy people who never check their work or do the readings. Their whole schtick doesn’t require accuracy, honesty, or precision, so it makes sense. But still.
021
Good Public Good @kelitupu.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
Karma rooted in a fundamental incompetence is a real thing. You can only use words to lie about the actual existing world around you for so long. People eventually look up whenever they choose & see things as they are. “Who you gonna believe me or your lyin eyes” is NOT a recipe for the long term.

People with ADHD a hundred years ago were just discarded systemically by the wayside as lazy or dumb or troublemakers or whatever else. We just have better, more precise ways of helping people manage symptoms & more broadly expanded levels that are inclusive and affirming

This is, in no small part, what happens when you cede control of public goods, coffers, and I.P. w/no recourse or equity in the wealth & broad-based social utility they represent, to wealthy individuals & corporations. Govt intervention creates markets and these ghouls monetize them.

yes, punching people is bad, but what is worse is not being able to forgive and move on and build bridges with the people who are clearly communicating something more profound about their lives when they go out and punch other people for no discernible reason and break shit and steal. build bridges.

It's as if someone woke up each day for their entire life, walked outside, punched people directly in the mouth all day for a living, spit on them, broke into and stole from stores, just sheer chaos...then just went back home at the end of day and said, every day, good day at work.

When you lay it all out in black white as the longest, ever bulletpoint list of all manner of high crimes, misdeeds, and misdemanors and more, it's a level of grandiosity and GOAT status you can't make up. It's awe-inspiring, and it takes my breath away just slightly every single time.

Only Republicans are allowed to get away w/this kind of nonsense on the national stage. There's never been a remotely analogous situation in politics, where one side is ostensibly allowed to engage in all manner of batshit crazy histrionics, lies, distortions, misdirections, tangents. It's historic.

Academics will spend decades writing about, analyzing, studying “what went wrong,” and in the end, the answers will largely be the same as they were after Weimar. We reverted to our mean. We had our shot at getting it right this time. Despite all the prep time & a priori knowledge, we didn’t.

Repubs never have any responsibility acsribed to the bad things outcomes they do or cause. They are always just and/or understandably responding to some kind of overreach by a vast network of liberals in politics, schools, healthcare—in spite of that same liberal side being weak and feckless

Good Public Good @kelitupu.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
If repubs are in disarray, it’s always framed as a nuanced electoral outcome of whether Dems, in spite of repubs momentarily being in disarray, can become less disarrayed enough and/or in time to finally beat the repubs, who are still somehow “in it” despite the odds stacked against them

Legacy media favorite storylines Vibes have shifted (for mostly whites, except if also involved slight % shift of fill in blank of whatever minority bloc that affirms their priors over vibes shift) Dems in disarray Repubs in disarray or up in arms (BUT, always thru lens of Dems made them do it)
