I reviewed Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve for @gamesradarplus.bsky.social!!! Glad to say it's absolutely brilliant. One of the best games of 2026 and of the series. Gameplay as tight as ever, 10/10 soundtrack, and a story I thought I'd tire of but absolutely loved. www.gamesradar.com/games/action...

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve review: "Soars thanks to thrilling dogfights and a genuinely gripping Metal Gear-like story"

Turns out fast action, banging music, and big explosions are a good combo

video games as a whole make hundreds of billions of dollars a year and apparently somehow nobody can make any money on them or pay anyone to make them

Pretty fair point, I've been messaging a couple people pretty excited about this, but I can't imagine it's all that exciting to [most of the destiny team who don't work there anymore]

Weirder thing about the wolverine review cycle is that a lot of these reviews are beat for beat how I felt about Spider-Man 2

I'd be genuinely gutted if they didn't iterate on this in the sequel

So far I honestly think the time mechanic could stand to be harsher, and is already one of the more interesting things in the game

look lads. the newswire burst that Xbox CEO Asha Sharma spends "hours" responding to CS tickets - whether true or not - is low hanging corporate propaganda. throw that shit in the trash. it's an insult to your intelligence.

Yeah that's a goood prologue to be honest. Wears it's Witcher on its sleeves but the time mechanics really freshen up the whole ordeal and the combat is honestly pretty interesting. Really clicking with me so far

Great demo, definitely seeing what folk are saying about difficulty though. Main thing being the game wants you to do all of its NUMEROUS cool flashy counters, but enemies aren't really so fond of attacking
