I've done a lot of warehouse and factory work. 12+ hour shifts, flagrant health and safety violations, wage theft, rampant harassment and abuse. UBI would change that; we could walk out without risking losing our homes. Conditions would have to improve across every industry to retain people

Skin disorders like acne too - it's mostly genetic and yet we act like we should be able to will it away I had a serious eating disorder in my 20s. I never got treatment because I never became severely underweight. Sure it dominated my life and ruined a lot for me, but I was fat so it was allowed

This is true of so many conditions - my very thin grandma lamenting that she 'doesnt deserve' sleep apnea for example - but the diabetes one is especially thorny because it's so complex and so varied and just gets flattened into 'fat people make themselves diabetic lol' because that's easy

No psychological effects from two weeks of withdrawal at all, which confirms I didn't need it. It's not generally advised for anything I have, and contraindicated for some of what I've got going on... And yet it took me looking it up to get there. Stopping aripiprazole because the person who put me on it didn't have a fucking clue is so far all benefits no downsides. My IBS has improved, I'm less sleepy and more alert, and of all things my tremor is less noticeable. That psychiatrist definitely wrote his own diploma, in crayon.
