In 5786 alone, the starvation crisis in Gaza has only worsened as the Israeli government introduced new requirements for international aid organizations, which caused many international aid organizations to greatly reduce or cease operations in Gaza. This made smaller groups like the Gaza Soup Kitchen more crucial than ever.

The High Holy Day season invites us to give tzedakah, a practice of solidarity toward collective safety and freedom for all people.

Contribute to the Gaza Soup Kitchen

Over the past few years, Jews for Food Aid for People in Gaza developed a strong relationship of responsibility with the Gaza Soup Kitchen. We have learned for them that feeding thousands of people a day in the middle of unimaginable loss isn't just logistics; it is thousands of daily acts of refusal to let despair win. The work of the Gaza Soup Kitchen is solidarity and love expressed as a hot plate of food, a gesture that says: you are seen, you are loved, and you are not forgotten.

The cost of the Gaza Soup Kitchen’s operations is $15,000 per day to run seven kitchens throughout Gaza. This Tzedakah Campaign seeks to raise $180,000 which will allow the Gaza Soup Kitchen to continue their operations during the aseret yimei teshuvah, the ten days of repentance from Rosh HaShannah to Yom Kippur, helping to provide nourishing meals, essential supplies, water, and dignity to families in Gaza who are facing hunger, displacement, and despair.
