One president is a true “Conservation President,” and one is named Donald Trump. Learn how President Trump is taking steps to dismantle America’s legacy of conservation, including acting to remove protections from more than 100 million acres of public lands: ampr.gs/3QpYhYd
An infographic by the Center for American Progress comparing the environmental legacies of Theodore Roosevelt and Donald Trump. The background is a textured dark brown, featuring black-and-white portraits of Roosevelt on the left and Trump on the right at the top.

Large white text in the center reads: "The Trump administration is comparing Trump’s conservation legacy to that of Teddy Roosevelt. Here are the facts."

Below this headline, the infographic contrasts the two presidents in a side-by-side list:

Roosevelt (marked with green asterisks):

Protected nearly 230 million acres of public lands

Designated 18 national monuments and established 5 national parks

Conserved 150 million acres of national forests

Trump (marked with red asterisks):

Removed protections from more than 100 million acres of public lands

Removed protections from all 5 U.S. marine national monuments

Permitted logging in national forests, mining in historical areas, and drilling in recreation areas
