Interesting digital ID update in The Times. A couple of things on this from me: firstly, does someone at DSIT need reminding that govt is not a tech company? Govts should have transparent public road maps for delivery. Tech cos do launches to feed the hypebeast www.thetimes.com/uk/technolog...

The scheme will be voluntary and drivers will still be issued with provisional and full photocard driving licences, but ministers hope the move will
"drag government into the 2020s".
The plans are due to be announced by ministers next week in a "product launch" event in central London.
Subermarkets could link the digital licence with

Primary school lunches are free in London (thank you!) which makes a massive difference. But secondary school lunches are so expensive and not healthy ! Our secondary school has a donation based secondhand uniform “shop” which is brilliant.

If you wish to send a message to the friends and family of Vicky Teinaki, @vickytnz.bsky.social, about how much she meant to us and the community she was so much a part of, please add them here. I now have access to a compilation by a close friend of hers (not on BlueSky) and will add ours.

I’ve been in awe of Vicky’s work for years, often quoting or sharing her views and learning, helpful to so many. I met her at Service Design in Gov a few years ago, it was pleasure to talk with her. Her impact and voice will be very much missed. My condolences to her friends and family.

Anna Jones’ cookbooks are good for this. Things that work well for us: - veg curry, with extra herbs, chopped chilli, raita, chutney, poppadums, naan - black bean stew, with extra salsa verde, yoghurt, cheese, pickled red onions - minestrone soup, with extra stir fried greens, lemon, croutons

I found this really hairy in NYC - as someone coming from the UK when the crossing says go for pedestrians it doesn’t mean “look out for vehicles turning too!”

Love the way they are displayed !

A dark expanse of sky, glow of city lighting and then the sliver of moon and bright pin point of Venus.

Mine is still there, doing nothing. With a suggestion of finding me here.

I’ve also enjoyed seeing some people’s stacks - mostly to add to my wish lists

Today, the UK government announced a proposal to change copyright law - for the benefit of AI companies - that would cause huge, irreversible harm to creators. More info below, but most importantly here's what you can do (wherever you live): 1. Email your MP. Template letter in 🧵 👇 1/10

What’s worse is when you text back and then they continue to send you VM in return! It’s the “it’s easier for me to send a VM” - yes but it’s not easier for me to listen to them 🤣
