Happy Friday! It's a busy weekend here in Glastonbury. It is Summer solstice tomorrow so I will up on Glastonbury Tor tomorrow morning at sunrise (forecast looking great). The town will be busy for that and also as people start to arrive for the festival. 😎☀️🥳

#AlphabetChallenge #WeekYforYellow Laburnum Arch at @nationaltrust.org.uk Bodnant Gardens North #Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 It flowers for about 3 weeks from late May to early June. At over 140 years old & 55 meters long, it's believed to be the oldest & longest flowering arch in the UK. 💛

#AlphabetChallenge #WeekTforTime Time stood still - Oradour-sur-Glane 🇫🇷 On 10 June 1945 a SS unit encircled the village & within hours they had murdered 642 men, women & children. The site was left in exactly the same state and has a display of watches which had stopped at the time of the attack.

A reminder of a pretty etymology to brighten the day. The ‘daisy’ takes its name from the Old English ‘dæges ēage’, ‘day’s eye’, because it opens its petals at dawn, and closes them again at dusk.

Twin Filaments launch while crossing through the Earth-Strike Zone! These #solarstorms will likely travel slowly, but they are dense and thus could pack a decent punch! Still waiting for coronagraph data to inform model runs, but impact could be late April 15 or early April 16.

White sands of Balnakeil Bay beach at the most north westerly point of Scotland.A photo of the top of Clashnessie waterfalls as the river cascades over the top of the highest part of the fall. Stoer Lighthouse with Aurora in the sky behind. Looks like a multicoloured curtain backdrop with pink, purple and green light shining vertically down. Also visible, albeit faintly, are many stars.Glenfinnan Viaduct seen from the hillside opposite showing how it dramatically crosses the valley. This was our first day and was quite overcast with squally showers.

On the headland is Cape Wrath Training Camp which has restricted entry and must be part of the periodic MOD firing exercises.
