Our entire economy is being artificially propped up by astrology for men: AI, crypto, sports betting, and prediction markets. It's an economy shaped entirely by male insecurity and lack of impulse control, and we'll all pay the price.

I oppose him because he has endeavored to prevent the population of these states; for that purpose obstructing the laws for naturalization of foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new appropriations of lands.

I oppose him because he has obstructed the administration of justice, by refusing his assent to Laws for establishing judiciary powers.

I oppose him because he has made judges dependent on his will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

I oppose him because he has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.

They don’t know how war works and they don’t know how negotiations work—but they do know how grift works. Our oligarchs will make money, Putin will make money, and that’s the only "victory" they care about. As a war this is obviously a defeat for the US—had the US won it would be dictating terms.

Yes, there is a crime of "improper entry" under 8 U.S.C. § 1325(a)(1) that makes it a misdemeanor to enter the country illegally. But: A: That offense doesn't apply to visa overstays, and; B: The statute of limitations is 5 years, and most undocumented immigrants have been here for 15+ years.

Our attention is a measurable commodity and we should withhold it. Look instead upon the horror of immigrant incarceration under the executive branch; join a local advocacy group and protect your neighbors.

This is easily—EASILY—the best thing to ever happen to me on Al Gore's internet. Thank you Mr. @wdmbox.bsky.social for your encouragement. I will do my very best to keep going 💪
A screen shot of two posts.

Mine reads "I am trying Mr. Box." above a picture of packing boxes in a warehouse setting, one slightly higher than the other; the words "DO NOT BREAK DOWN" can be seen on it. I first posted it 8 months ago and occasionally repost.

Reply from William Box @wdmbox.bsky.social reads: "Great. Keep going." He posted seven hours ago.

Every year for like twenty years, I take a few days in December and do intricately decorate sugar cookies. I'm so, so happy with this year's lot.
There are 10 decorated sugar cookies in a silver rimmed baking sheet. From the upper left moving clockwise, roughly: a star that has a chocolate cookie interior with a sugar cookie around it, decorated with white lines and balls and blue edible glitter. A small round cookie with a string of multi-color lights. A white snowflake with white piping. A green Christmas tree. A champagne flute with white foam and bubbles and "2025" written in black edible ink. A Santa face with a hat whose brim and ball are covered in white sugar, a red nose, a mustache, and even eyebrows. A wreath with red berries. Another green Christmas tree. A reindeer face with antlers and a big red nose. And finally, a white llama with the words "Fa-la-la-la-llama" written across his front.

Imperial Regional Detention Facility exists rent free in my head because construction was brokered by a community development group, and is run as a 501(c)3 and rented to a private prison company.

I like to say I respect despair as an emotion but not an analysis. As an analysis it assumes we know what can and can't happen, and the future is both uncertain and at least to some extent what we make of it. Plus why would I give them what they want, as premature surrender? Thanks Senator Schatz.

a question we got: who stands to benefit from a growth in immigration detention? Historian Brianna Nofil's answer: "The system rewards those who can sustain human life at the lowest possible cost." boltsmag.org/the-past-and...
Who will be making money off of this? — @sbec, on BlueSky

Everyone! The migrant detention system (like for-profit incarceration, more broadly) rewards those who can sustain human life at the lowest possible cost: Everything from food services to medical care to data management to transportation services between detention centers to deportation flights is making companies money. In 2019, employees of Wayfair staged a walkout to protest their company providing furniture to detention centers—a reminder that even beyond the obvious suspects, like prison private companies, there is enormous profit to be made by the private sector across the board from government contracting.
