how is this orange slice even holding on to the rim???
An orange slice that, rather than being pushed on to the rim like normal, is only touching the inside of the glass. So I guess we're supposed to believe that the orange slice has the fruit equivalent of those sticky toes frogs have that let them climb walls, because it is somehow magically sticking to the inside of the glass. It is painfully bizarre once you spot it.

Could you possibly design a more misleading poll -- why were respondents asked about (per the article), "police, fire, parks, homelessness services"? It's like asking "would you support raiding the clean energy fund for both police and anti-police?"--what kind of data is that!
Should Portland spend climate funds on police, parks, and other services?

An excellent write-up, it boggles the mind that more people--especially people paid to know this stuff--don't get it.
Therefore, WHO should change its default response. For pathogens with documented person-to-person spread and severe outcomes, the initial assumption should be airborne risk unless and until evidence supports easing back. The burden of proof should not be on those arguing for caution. It should be on those arguing to relax it.

So early childhood education is such a drain on taxpayers it's going to supposedly make everyone move away but *this* is a good use of metro tax dollars? Also what the actual fuck?! The clean energy fund?!
However, it is unclear how quickly the city may act. Wilson's plan to access funds from the city's voter-approved clean energy fund has drawn criticism, including from some members of City Council.

Hey folks! I'm selling my tiny house, it's all prepped and ready for someone new to love it as much as I did. If you're interested, please reach out, I'll leave DMs open for a while! Happy to answer any questions, and I've got a more detailed sales flyer I can share upon request.
View of the living area in the tiny house on a sunny afternoon. There's a couch and coffee table, a bookshelf on the right, French front doors on the left, and a storage loft above. The ceilings and trim are all richly stained wood--decidedly cabin vibes.View of the opposite end of the tiny house, including the dining bar, kitchen area, bathroom, and stairs to the sleeping loft. Again, very cabin-y. A full-size washer and dryer are visible in the bathroom.View from the stairs of the sleeping loft. There's a queen size bed (pictured), and decent storage for clothes (not pictured).Exterior view of the tiny house! It has metal skirting and steps, both included in the sale. Overall it's light gray with white trim and a dark gray roof, with lots of windows. The adorable twee cabin vibes continue.

Lastly, fuck the CDC. This isn't all the absolute worst advice, but the "shower within 2 hours" thing is...there's nothing special about 2 hrs. Just examine your body without clothes as soon as you reasonably can. And examine your body with clothes on as soon as you leave the forest or brushy area.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, any discovered attached ticks should be immediately removed, while unattached ticks on clothing can be killed through tumble-drying your clothes for at least 10 minutes (if the clothes are wet and need to be washed first, use hot water, not cold or medium). Showering within two hours of these trips can also lower your risk of tickborne illness by allowing you to more easily examine your body and potentially wash off any ticks that haven’t attached to you.

(sorry for the abrupt pause, IRL things called!) Unfortunately we know come to one of the most disinfo-ridden parts of the article. The old "it can take hours or even a day to contract Lyme or other pathogens from a tick bite" is false. Again, please avail thee of a Buhner book or the literature--
The takeaway from this research is plenty obvious: make sure to double-check that you, your clothes, and other items are tick-free whenever you come home from tick-prevalent places like wooded and brushy areas with high grass and leaf litter. And since it can take hours or even a day before you actually contract Lyme disease or other germs from a tick bite, time is an important aspect of disease prevention.

A bold undersell. 1. There are so many worse things that ticks can do to you other than "aw shucks can't eat red meat anymore" 2. Calling alpha-gal a "red meat allergy" undersells it -- it's any mammalian meat product, and people usually only find out they have it by almost (or actually) dying

And a comment on Chinese skullcap root (Scutellaria baicalensis):
This herb appears to act as a fairly strong immune modulator. It seems to have powerful immune adaptogenic actions. If the immune response is too high-irrespective of the direction (Thi or Th2) —the herb alters the immune response appropriately. It may turn out to be a primary herb for this infection.

4. Motherwort tincture, ¼ ounce (yes, chat is right) in liquid juss before bed (if the melatonin does not help).
With severe fatigue, use the following for 6 months:
1. Eleutherococcus tincture (Herb Pharm formulation; see page

cover of Buhner's "Healing Lyme Disease Coinfections: Complementary and Holistic Treatments for Bartonella and Mycoplasma"covers of Buhner's "Healing Lyme" and "Herbal ABCs: The Foundation of Herbal Medicine" by Dr. TignerBut the bartonella bacteria also use what the Lyme bacteria are doing for their own purposes. Once Lyme spirochetes damage collagen tissues, for instance in the joints of the knee, the body sends CD34+ cells to that site to help repair the damage. This is a normal part of the healing process when collagen is damaged. But bartonellas typically invade CD34+ cells, so some of those CD34+ cells will be infected and the bartonellas will take advantage of the local inflammation to establish a colony of their own in that location. The existing inflammation actually facilitates their growth. Once established, they will begin their own cytokine cascade, which will itself contribute to even more collagen degradation at that location.
Were the infected person already suffering a preexisting inflammation in that joint location (as is common in the aged), the process is even easier for the bacteria. The inflammation would, by itself, stimulate the movement of infectious bacteria to that location.
If you add other confectious bacteria to the mix, the picture becomes even more complicated. For example, if Babesia bacteria are
