The Tidy Up the Arcane Library cozy video game got me. I first loaded it up and thought, huh, this looks stressful and tedious. Now I can't stop shelving books. I should be writing and editing books instead, but here I am. #cozyvideogames #videogames #librariantidyupthearcanelibrary

Something wicked is spreading its roots across The Driftcap Inn. Every guest is hiding secrets, but to save his home Eino will have to decide who he can trust with his life and his heart. A #cozyfantasy standalone set in the sky. #fantasybooks #indieauthors #indiebooks

One of the best things about #gardening is exchanging plants with friends and family. I like giving extras away to a good home, and getting new plants is exciting! Anyone get their hands on any interesting plants lately? I finally found myself some lovage for making historical recipes!

Fellow #writers are you getting inundated with marketing scam emails too? What's the funniest or oddest thing you've gotten from one of them? Today's scammer in my email inbox called themselves a "Book Visibility Alchemist" and it gave me a chuckle. #writingcommunity #indieauthors

Title reveal! Book 2 of my Innkeepers of Itharos series will be The Luminous Lake Inn. This #cozyfantsy is a series of standalones about inns. Im currently editing and working on cover art. I'm using Isabeau de Backhaus again, the artist who made the cover for book 1, The Driftcap Inn.

I signed up for the emails so I get sales updates, but I'm skipping May and doing the next sale later in the year. I'm aiming my big sales around Hearthcon this year. I think I found the discord link in an old email so I will check it out this week!

I did the promise sales last year but never joined the discord. I'll go search my emails and see if I can find the link!

Those Who are About to Die: A Day in the Life of a Roman Gladiator is out! I read an ARC and if you want to explore the reality of gladiators outside of the Hollywoodized versions, this is the book for you. It is fascinating and sometimes even surprising! #nonfictionbooks #booksky #history

I will have to look into it! I like to read horror between cozy reads

All of my well wishes to your groove! I'm just getting back into one too after a few weeks of knitting and video gaming instead while my ARC list gets longer and longer. Here's to catching up for us both!

Today is a good day! I got an ARC for A Trade of Blood by Robert Jackson Bennett, the third book in the Shadow of the Leviathan series. So excited because I love this series! What book are you excited to dive into this weekend? #booksky #fantasybooks #reading

Finished the draft of my second Innkeepers of Itharos book! Now to get the edits done. While The Driftcap Inn explored the sky, the next book takes us to a water setting. It deals with grief, choosing your own path, and learning to stand up for what you belief in.

The Faraway Inn by Sarah Beth Durst is out! I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this #cozyfantasy This book is cute, humorous, and cozy. The romance is adorable and so is the companion animal. If you like books about finding your place at magic inns, add this one to your TBR. #YAbooks #bookreview

My latest favorite #cozyfantasy video game is Tavern Talk, a visual novel game. You play as an innkeeper and talk to and send your visitors on quests and make them drinks. Makes me long for more cozy fantasy games to play between books.

Kate Valent @katevalent.bsky.social · 27/03/2026

Why do you write or read? One of the reasons I write is because there have been many difficult times in my life where books were a great comfort to me. I've been writing #cozyfantasy because I'd like to be able to give the same comfort to someone else when they need it.

I wanted a #glutenfree treat while I read my latest library find. So I made some gf date bread and slathered this on it. Talk about amazing. The company is a local #Pittsburgh one for me and I'm desperate to try more flavors now. #foodie

I didn't realize they had an Australian one! I enjoyed the first few seasons of the original Alone, but got tired of it always being in the same place. I'm going to have to check this one out.

The question I get the most these days is "Is this book AI?" I'm a human. I have a belly button and everything, so I'm pretty sure I'm not even a clone. I hire real artists for my covers and editing (I have no proof that they aren't secretly clones, however). Also... #indieauthor #fantasyauthor

Currently reading A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping. There's no worse feeling when reading than realizing it is time to go to bed, but you want to keep reading. And you know if you don't go now you'll stay up all night reading and be exhausted the next day. #fantasyromance #cozyfantasy

Today I'm making Turkish Delight. I'm making a coconut one to celebrate @lynnstrong.bsky.social 's upcoming #cozyfantasy Chai and Charmcraft. So far it seems to be working, but I'm crossing my fingers as it cools. I don't know if I got the consistency right, but it at least tastes good!

To get cozy this winter I started knitting some new scarves. I've discovered I really like playing the original #IronChef seasons from Japan in the background while I knit. Now it's becoming a comfort show, a twist in my life I never saw coming. I'm a big Chairman Kaga fan girl.

I just finished my ARC of The Inn at the Foot of Mount Vengeance by Chiara Bullen and it was delightful. A scholar stays at an inn determined to record its history and the adventurers who climb the mountain. You'll like it if you enjoyed The Spellshop series. #cozyfantasy #bookreview #fantasybooks

The holidays are my favorite time of year, but also sometimes the saddest. I'm always grateful to celebrate with those I love, but it's also hard to ignore the empty spaces left by those who have passed on. My heart is with everyone missing someone this holiday season.

Been reading a lot of #cozyfantasy #witchybooks about inheriting a cottage/inn/other business and a common theme is the dead relative coming to visit during Samhain. Easy to see why because who wanted want to see someone they miss? I tear up thinking about my dad every time.
