Today at parliament some real work happened too. Children and young people with SLCN got to ask MPs questions. Several started with 'I have DLD'. Advocating for themselves. Compared to where we were a few years ago this is incredible. They are the future! #DevLangDis

Thanks for the compliment Stephen! Useful for children with literacy difficulties, including accessing audiobooks from wonderful sources such as RNIB reading services and Calibre Audio. I also used it myself during my MSc - a great way of processing written materials.

🧵The problem with removing labels (in any context), is that as soon as they go, there is no common language amongst professionals, across schools and other agencies. Everyone starts talking at cross purposes and misunderstanding each other. Everything becomes muddled and confused.

Reading comprehension intervention for DLD. Three groups: text comprehension, oral language and both. All had an impact. One year later oral language group died the biggest effect. Focus on oral language to improve reading!
