The reason so many of us get annoyed about conversations around e-bikes is that we are seeing cities and towns taking dramatic steps to try and curtail e-bike usage while they shrug at the daily carnage caused by cars. It's extra infuriating because e-bikes ARE REPLACING CARS.

Advocates in CT spent over a decade trying to get automated enforcement to reduce speeding and redlight running with tremendous oversight over the program to only have police depts with NO oversight dropping flock cameras everywhere. WTF.

We did it again, new record for utility scale solar (Front of Meter) production in New England today thanks to clear blue sky Let's zoom out, the amount of utility scale on our grid has tripled in just five years and came up just below a full GW today at peak production

While I'll stipulate that NHTSA fatality data is essential to improving traffic safety and an amazing resource It's always interesting to dig in One thing I noticed today is that we've had no deaths of a "person on a personal conveyance" since 2021 No scooter deaths, no wheelchair deaths, really?

I have a father and mother in law in Iran. I have a sister in law. A niece. She's 14. She likes silly pink headbands and purses and dresses, just like kids her age all over the world. There are 93 million people like her in Iran. People who do all the normal mundane life things as the rest of us.

I see the environmental benefits of carpooling and raise you… bike pooling: picking up neighbor kids by cargo bike to get them to school. If your city supports it (via safe infrastructure & density) it’s the best way to start and end your day. 🚲 ❤️

Renewables are eating fossil generation. The transition is working and it is key to not let up and let NIMBY sentiments stop it At this moment in New England: 20% renewable + 27% nuclear, over a GW of wind + behind the meter another ~3 GW of solar (causing the big drop in the system demand graph)

I struggle mightily and my less than best self appears when I hear adults talk about how *kids* on ebikes are a problem. Lack of separated facilities from cars- that's a problem. Easily modifiable bikes and e-motos - that's a problem. Kids on bikes, outside, being kids- this is an opportunity. Dur.
