AP Stylebook warns against anthropomorphizing AI systems: “Avoid language that gives them human characteristics… Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.”
APStylebook @APStylebook

Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects.
Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.

In the end they believe chronically ill and disabled people are weak or lying. They think if we just gave up medicine and our attachment to medical science and just ate non-GMO, “chemical free” foods we’d miraculously heal (or die, which is fine by them too).

However you feel about AOC it’s good for us to have a broader convo about how these MAHA people use keywords that you might agree with (pesticides! Chemicals! Safe food!) but the way they want to implement their ideas would kill the chronically ill, the disabled, the poor, and the marginalized.

Three small woodcut prints, two on white paper and one on black paper. From left to right, they depict a columbine, an orchid, and a grasshopper on a yarrow flower cluster. Linocut print on white paper, on a pine table. The print depicts a stack of books, in a pink/purple/blue bi pride gradient.

"[A] profound debut novel... James captures the simple kindnesses of a cup of coffee or a shared cellphone as though they were religious acts. Where a more ponderous writer might lapse into a lengthy stream of consciousness, James uses short chapters to weave a story of fractured time and uncharted pace into the fabric of life after Katrina .. This is a book of faith aching to be laimed, of a land that dares to be edeemed, of souls searching to be free, of all spirits looking for a home. It's a metaphysical book deeply rooted in ancient legacies of subjugation... This is a deeply haunted novel that moves with calm and ruthless determination, like the eye of a hurricane." - The Los Angeles Times
