This is the best I could get of the #Aurora #Borealis from the back garden. I could not see it with the naked eye. This is a phone #photo. #DartmoorNationalPark #photography #nighttime

To cheer myself up for #Caturday, I thought I would do a sub-species profile on the #Carpathian #lynx. It is a subspecies of the Eurasian lynx. #Photography #cat #Felinae #ECK #wildlife #CatsOfBlueSky #cats

Archive photo of Flaviu the Carpathian lynx at DartmoorZoo (Lynx lynx carpathicus) is one (of thought) of six subspecies of Eurasian lynx. This particular subspecies occurs in Central and Eastern Europe, mainly the Carpathian Mountains. They are about the size of a Labrador dog. About 2400 Carpathian lynx are alive in the wild, with a total estimated size of the Eurasian lynx population as 9000. The lynx is an obligate Carnivore and hunts animals such as roe and fallow deer, but will also eat rabbits etc. The Eurasian lynx on the whole is classed as Least Concern with a stable population trend, however it is threatened by hunting, habitat loss and vehicle collisions.

www.gbnews.com/news/yorkshi... I do not plan to watch the footage and I am not going to. This man is very lucky to be alive and the tiger was not shot. I love tigers and it makes me very sad when people do this, tigers are very dangerous animals and demand respect. I feel very sorry for the man.

It’s World Mental Health Day and if you’re fortunate enough to be in good mental health today please show your gratitude by refusing to stigmatise those who happen not to be.

World Mental Health Day reminds us that not every struggle is visible, not every wound has a name, and not everyone who smiles is doing well. Lead with compassion, make room for honest conversations, and remember that mental health deserves care every day, not just today. #Pinks 💖✨

#DailyTiger The exquisite Padme, a #Sumatran #tigress, that used to reside at the local Zoo but who now lives at a Zoo in Ireland. I would love to see her again one day if that is possible. #Caturday #CatsOfBlueSky #cats #photography #ECK #Panthera #tigris #sumatrae #mammal

The glorious Padme, she is a very beautiful tigress (in my opinion). She is the sister of Carrie, who moved to Japan. Padme now lives at Fota Wildlife Park in Ireland.

@robcrank68.bsky.social #Blue #Headed #Parrot with food. #BirdOfTheDay #birds #birding 🪶 #parrots #photography #birdphotography The parrot seems to be offering 'Want some?' of it's food. It is native to South America and is classed as Least Concern with a stable population trend on the IUCN.

Very old archive photo of a blue-headed parrot (Pionus menstruus) with green feathers and a green background. It almost looks as if it were offering food to me.

Research from The Missing Lynx Project has shown that releasing 20 lynx in northern England over five years would lead to a healthy population and that local support is strong. Learn more about lynx and the work of The Missing Lynx Project👇 f.mtr.cool/fdpxqxkuob 🧵3/3
