Today's the 960th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, so obviously I'm reposting my scenes from the Bayeux Tapestry in Playmobil.

#OSTober Day 14: Favorite sad song Farewell and Into the Inevitable by Sam Hulick There's both sadness and hope in this piece as the war against the Reapers has taken a toll on Shepard. As final song of ME3's Citadel DLC, it also is a goodbye to the trilogy. 😢 www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-WZ...

She's chewing bubble gum and kicking ass. Now with base decorations, but pending a coat of varnish. #warhammercommunity #40k #ImperialGuard #AstraMilitarum #nerdlings

A custom commissar for Warhammer 40k, based on Commissar Graves.
The commissar is wearing a white uniform with black boots, a black greatcoat with red facings, and silver armor with golden ornaments.
She is standing on the stairs that are intended for the Commissar Graves on foot miniature. Her right leg is stretched out for a kick, her white peaked cap has fallen off her bloodied head, and landed with its top down on one of the steps behind her.
The head of the fallen guardsmen has been replaced with a Forgeworld had with a breather mask. The fallen guardsman's armor is white, his helmet's visor is purple and its Aquila is blue. Around the base are yellow grass tufts and red poppies.

Rear view of the same miniature. The red powerfist has scuff marks. A black and yellow power cable connects it to a tan colored backpack. In her right hand is a golden and silver bolt pistol.

Show me a photo on your phone that isn’t you but has your energy "Right now I feel I could take on the whole Empire myself."

Photo of the board game Battle of Hoth, while setting up the figures for scenario 2. The Empire's army has been put on the board as per the instructions, so it has one AT-AT walker, a pair of probe droids, and six groups of snow troopers.
For this photo, the side of the Rebels only consists of a single snowspeeder, piloted by Dak Ralter.
The regular game, where the Rebels have three units of snowspeeders and four groups of infantry, went on as a 4:1 victory for the Rebels. Ironically, a snowspeeder unit ended up being the only casualty. 😂

Luckily enough the sunny day allowed me to varnish the minis. Project complete! But there's no rest for the wicked when it's against Tyranids. 😁 @edpaintskrieg.bsky.social @owolf.bsky.social @unitedpackage.bsky.social #warhammercommunity #ImperialGuard #AstraMilitarum #nerdlings #jhbackdrops

Warhammer 40k miniatures. The Triumvirate High Council of the Imperial Guard standing on the deck of its custom Centaur RSV. It leads a group of mechanized infantry (represented by a Chimera and Taurox Prime) against a group of Termagants, charging right into the xenos.

The vehicle is based on Commissar Graves' Centaur, with some modifications, most notably from this perspective a large searchlight instead of the two eagle heads. The hull of the Centaur is in brown grey, its railing is painted in gunmetal color, ornaments are in gold. The flags are painted in red and black, with white borders and golden ornaments, the largest has a green laurel and a bone white scroll that reads "Terra" in capital letters. The High Council's crest is silver with golden ornaments and bone white scrolls that read "High Council" in capital letters. A red diagonal stripe is behind it.
The Tyranids exoskeletons are painted in a bone white color, the carapace plates are pink. They are armed with Fleshborers, painted in red with dark grey plates on top.
In the background are old 40k ruins and behind that a page from Jon Hodgson's World War Ruins backdrop book, showing destroyed buildings.

Spooky Karl @karlplays.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

While the High Council is busy making attack plans, preparing their vehicle has been declared a matter for the top brass. (Calling the Centaur done, all that's left is a coat of varnish. Have a nice weekend everyone!) #warhammercommunity #ImperialGuard #AstraMilitarum #nerdlings

Warhammer 40k miniatures. Two mechanics are preparing a custom Centaur RSV. Their work is overseen by a commissar and a high-ranking officer who suspiciously looks like Ursarkar Creed. The two men in charge give one of the mechanics a curious look, wondering why he is carrying the barrel of an autocannon.
Creed and the commissar are wearing black greatcoats. The latter has a white uniform with gold trims, while Creed and the mechanics are wearing uniforms with an urban grey camo pattern.
The hull of the Centaur is in brown grey, its railing is painted in gunmetal color, ornaments are in gold. The flags are painted similar to that of the 8th Cadia from the 3.5 codex: red, black, with white borders and golden ornaments, the largest has a green laurel and a bone white scroll that reads "Terra" in capital letters.
The High Council's crest is silver with golden ornaments and bone white scrolls that reads "High Council" in capital letters. A red diagonal stripe is behind it.
Around the vehicle are wooden crates. The miniatures are standing on an urban gaming mat, the background is a page from Jon Hodgson's World War Ruins backdrop book, showing a red brick wall.

A diorama with Warhammer 40k miniatures. Commissar Thenia Graves on her custom Centaur RSV, Vigilance, personally leads a charge of Imperial Guard fast attack troops against an incoming group of Genestealers.
The vehicle Vigilance is mostly black with some copper decorative elements. Graves wears a black great coat and a white uniform underneath, she is armed with a blue power sword and a red power fist.
Behind her is a motorized unit of Rough Riders on bikes, and a Sentinel, as well as some guardsmen behind sandbag fortifications. They are painted in my regiment's urban grey camo colors.
They are charging against a group of Genestealers with pink carapace and bonewhite bodies.
In the background is a page from Jon Hodgson's World War Ruins backdrop book, showing a burning city.

"South Hexis, ready! Present! FIRE!!!" Guardsmen of the Praetorian 6/102nd take aim and prepare to deliver a volley of lasgun fire. Despite being a ragged band of ne'er-do-wells and rapscallions, the steadying presence of Captain Thorne's Light Company has a steadying effect on these conscripts.

A rectangular base with five Pretorian Guard troopers, rear rank standing and firing, front rank kneeling. They are in red tunics, white breeches, wearing black shakos.

A side view showing the white piping and yellow facings of the South Hexis regiment.

A frontal view, lasguns aimed at the camera.

Warhammer 40k miniatures. The Triumvirate High Council of the Imperial Guard having a business lunch at a bar.
Four high ranking officers, wearing black uniforms with golden trim, and silver armor with golden ornaments, are standing around a table.
The scenery is from Mantic's "BarRoom Brawl" advent calendar. A table, benches, some barrels, and in the back a bar with a red-haired dwarf as bartender and a fireplace. The background shows a wall from Jon Hodgson's World War Ruins backdrop book.

#WIPWednesday Two more commissars for my Guard, both based on Graves. The one has mostly the highlights on red and metal parts left to do, the other is in a very early stage. #warhammercommunity #40k #ImperialGuard #AstraMilitarum #nerdlings

A female commissar for Warhammer 40k, on the base of Commissar Graves on foot. The vehicle version of her mini has been modified so she performs a kick with her leg. Further changes are: using a female head with a bun from the Cadian Upgrades kit, because Graves' hat has fallen onto one of the steps behind her; using the version of her arm where she's holding her bolt pistol; and replacing the Cadian soldier's helmet with an old Forge World bit (a helmet with respirator).
The commissar's face is bloodied. Her greatcoat is black with red trim and a brown fur collar, her armor is silver, her uniform is white with golden trim. Her power fist is red with a black and yellow power cable attached to it. The base is grey, the fallen Cadian soldier wears white armor.

An unpainted 40k miniature. Another female commissar, customized so she holds a plasma pistol instead of a power fist. The other hand holds a power sword. She is walking on a destroyed Aquila symbol, which comes from the Red Corsairs Reave Captain kit.
