Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 1hI don’t enjoy being a Bluesky scold, but. Listen. Alt text exists for a REASON. For the love of all that's holy, PLEASE don’t put a screenshot of a wall of text, and alt-text it 'a statement on today's news' or whatever. That's not the point and it's completely useless. The alt text should... 100
Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 21hYep. I have my great-grandfather's foreign name, but have never once in my life been asked to prove my right to be here, because I'm whiter than fricken Casper. 0160
Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 09/10/2026I struggled with burnout in dead-end jobs before my autism diagnosis. Now I can access proper accommodations I have a well-paid job and I'm finally a net contributor to the economy. 020
Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 09/10/2026Hey y'all, new Etsy just dropped. Fybe.art: no gen-AI, no drop shipping, just human art made by humans. I was going to wait a little to advertise but I just made my first sale there! I'll get more of my beautiful handmades listed over the next few days and share as I go 😍fybe.artFybe. Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 08/10/2026The unalloyed happiness of both cats when they think that Mama has gone to the office for the day but then no! she is home after just a couple of hours having only popped to the shops. 010
Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 07/10/2026My section is completely empty - doesn't even have my shoe size, which is weird given I've definitely bought shoes on Amazon. Maybe a geographic/permissions thing? 010
Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 07/10/2026A sunbeam for lying in and a fishy for a pillow. What more could a kitty ask for? (Treats. The answer is treats.) 010
Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 06/10/2026Not quite sure what I'm making here since I measured the starting chain wrong. Hey ho, it will be what it will be. An adventure in crochet. 000

Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 02/10/2026Did you know, if you ask the Pets At Home AI assistant to change the email address on your account, it will say that is done exactly that? And then do... not that? And then close the chat without giving you the option to speak to a human? #FuckAI 000
Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 02/10/2026I left Protestantism because the belief system was too formalised for me, and now the Pope himself keeps tempting me towards Catholicism? 000

Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 02/10/2026No Pinterest, I don't think I ever will take your recurring suggestion of "Screenshot your feed and share your vibe", since my vibe, according to your algorithm, is "very mentally unwell". Thanks though 😘 000
Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 25/09/2026I'm catching up on my blocking: this one's a beauty. (though this part of the process does remind me every time how yucky that wet wool smell is) #crochet 020

Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 24/09/2026My recovery has been entirely self-guided and self-funded (to have the time and resources to do this is privilege in itself) and often helped the most by things that contradict accepted medical recommendations. Only time will tell whether I truly fully recover, or go into long-term remission. 001
Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 24/09/2026I am incredibly lucky to be (touch wood) well on the recovery path from ME/CFS. Thanks are due in no part whatsoever to the NHS, who discharged me after 6 months because I was 'taking up clinic space' when they had an influx of new patients, and no treatment to offer me. 130
Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 23/09/2026Since I didn't realise I was bi until I was in my 30s, it feels somehow appropriate that I didn't realise today is Bi Visibility Day until gone 4pm. Happy Bi Visibility Day. 010

Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 13/09/2026I am convinced that cat food companies put different (tastier) food in their sample packs than they do in the full size ones. Only a cat will be able to persuade me otherwise. 000

Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 10/09/2026I made the mistake of opening Reddit without being logged in. God above, it's a bleak and bitter place without the benefit of the algorithm gently filtering my feed to a blend of cats, weaving, and Animal Crossing. 041
Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 06/09/2026I remember once staying in a Travelodge family room and Dad telling me his own (highly improvised) take on Jack & the Beanstalk. I don’t remember much about it other than being in tears of laughter, but I treasure the memory. ChatGPT could never. 010
Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 06/09/2026Thinking today - apropos *nothing whatsoever* - about the Battle of Stockton in 1933, when a group of locals gathered together to forcefully evict an organised fascist rally from their town. Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 01/09/2026I see a few people saying that they don't blame Starmer for standing down but you see I will continue to blame him for destruction of trans rights and protest rights, and the villainisation of disabled people and immigrants. And I will continue to blame Burnham for carrying on those projects. 010
Karen de Lange @karendelange.co.uk · 29/08/2026Nope, but it did teach me that in order to demonstrate my penitence, God requires the kneeling to be followed up by a forward roll. Church never taught me that bit. 010
