I have memed my existence
Même shows a young guy looking at a pretty girl while his girlfriend stares at him angrily

The pretty girl has text reading "finishing my novel"

The guy says "me"

The girlfriend says "Having to work a full time job (and freelance jobs) and also eat meals and exercise and sleep"

My final publication of 2024 is now live in @antiheroinchic.bsky.social’s beautiful December issue. I am so honored to have been included with this vulnerable poem. Read it now at the link below. (CW/TW: gun violence and abortion imagery.) #writingcomminity heroinchic.weebly.com/blog/poetry-...

The morning of November 6, I woke up, wrote a poem, and submitted it to @antiheroinchic.bsky.social. The raw anger rolled from my fingertips, and I left it untouched. This poem is rooted in grief and fear. It’s personal, based on my experiences alone. It’s the quiet parts said aloud. 1/

Something I've noticed now that I'm teaching: You can blow a new writer's mind by letting them in on the secret that writers have no idea what the fuck we're doing, and that when you see writers in movies and TV shows just clickity-clacking away with certainty, that is called fantasy.

Hello, Bluesky! I don’t post often, but I promise I’m happy to be here! Looking forward to getting involved in the #writingcommunity as a fellow fiction writer and poet. I’m currently editing my first novel (why did no one tell me this was hard?! 😅) and writing sassy poems about my feelings. Say hi!
