A dense star field fills the entire image, with countless stars scattered across a backdrop of glowing clouds in shades of red, orange, pink, white, and blue. At the centre, a brilliant concentration of stars creates a bright, almost white core surrounded by filaments and wisps of illuminated gas and dust. Toward the left side, dark and irregular patches of opaque dust interrupt the glowing clouds.

Earth as seen from the Orion capsule. It is divided sharply in half, with a line running diagonally from the 11 o'clock to the 4 o'clock. The lower left half is a bright pale blue. Its surface is covered with swirly, puffy white clouds, with texture indicating different thicknesses. The upper right half is dark, with no illumination from the Sun. Monet knew winters that weren’t just weather. In Argenteuil, he painted streets buried in snow; later, debt and death would drag his life into wintry depths. Starting to feel the chill of winter? Let's study the season through Monet's eyes. 🧵👇 #artbots #monet

Impressive JWST/NIRCam data processing of NGC 5643 by @thocarp.bsky.social www.flickr.com/photos/19746... 🔭 🧪
A detailed near-infrared image of NGC 5643, an intermediate spiral galaxy in the constellation Lupus. The galaxy appears as a grand design spiral with two well-defined, symmetric arms. The center of the galaxy is bright and is thought to harbor a low-luminosity active galactic nucleus. The image is filled with stars, both within the galaxy and in the background. The infrared light from NIRCam allows us to see through the dust and gas that obscures the view in optical light, revealing the structure of the galaxy in greater detail.

It's cold out there! NGC 4569 in all of its glory, seen in mid-infrared through JWST's MIRI lenses. Processed by Go Webb. www.flickr.com/photos/19643... 🔭 🧪
This captivating Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI) image from the James Webb Space Telescope showcases the spiral galaxy NGC 4569. Classified as a barred spiral due to its central bulge intersected by a bar-shaped structure, the galaxy's core glows with a faint, dusty rose color. Delicate tendrils of gas, tinged with yellows and oranges, weave throughout the spiral arms that gracefully unwind outwards. The cooler, outer regions of the galaxy fade into a deep, inky black, offering a glimpse into the vastness of space.

Beautiful, ghost-like NGC 4689. This is a spiral galaxy, viewed in mid-infrared, as seen through Webb's MIRI mirrors. Processed by @thocarp.bsky.social www.flickr.com/photos/19746... 🔭 🧪
In this captivating mid-infrared view captured by MIRI, the majestic spiral galaxy NGC 4689, 54 million light-years distant, unfolds its secrets. Unlike visible light images, this view reveals a symphony of dust and gas radiating in the mid-infrared realm. The glowing tendrils trace the galaxy's spiral arms, potentially highlighting regions of active star formation hidden in the visible spectrum, while the bright central core hints at the presence of a supermassive black hole. This image by MIRI provides a unique perspective on NGC 4689, allowing us to peer beyond the veil of dust and witness the ongoing processes that shape this magnificent galaxy.
