Agatha Christie's Poirot has taught me a lot about Art Moderne, the 1930s sleek, fluid, horizontal & more streamlined successor to 1920s Art Deco (my fav along w/ Art Nouveau.) Art Deco was all vertical, geometric, more ornate & ostentatious decor. Poirot's OCD suited the Moderne more, said Christie
