Well, I put in the papers & announced that after 30 years of working in state government, I am retiring with a last day of work as of 8/31/26. Mixes feelings as I’ve had major accomplishments. I’ve also made mistakes that thankfully only really impacted me. 1/1

I, nobody of importance, feel the need to share info most of you already know, but just in case: It’s not the smartest to schedule multiple medical and legal appointments for you and your spouse (& kids if they are part of it) in a 4 week period as close to your retirement date as possible.

Had one of those days that 80’s raised tv might understand. I was in for a check up that needs to tell me how much longer I have to hold on to the good insurance. I said, “I have my 30 yrs in so, if you find someone let’s take care of it very soon. Retirement date is coming up”

Well, thanks to the price of health insurance, a refrigerator that has decided to turn into a freezer, and a surprise “temp” supervisor until my real supervisor returns (maybe) from a surprise pregnancy/ birth, I ain’t retiring at the end of this month.

Quick update without time to check up on every one by lurking💜. I might be retiring sooner than thought. Been working paying jobs since I was 9. Worked 3-4 jobs to get thru university even tho had a full ride tuition scholarship at at great liberal arts school.

I keep trying to do things that might help. While I’m extremely privileged in a lot ways now, I grew up surrounded by people that are the type being recruited by ICE. They were evil asses then and we just keep giving them more.

Thank you, Espy. I’ve lost my way…lots of ways, but the one I miss most is how to tell someone you have as “para-social friend” how much they can actually mean. I had pen pals (yes. OLD), but no less of intensely of feeling. And two of mine save my 9 yr old life.

A year ago I was preparing a to fly xcntry to me the The Squad, have GrMom sign my books & meet GR Dad. I did that plus went to some cool museums then flew back…& broke a tooth. Still has was one of the best 4 days of my life. I meet some of the coolest people & dog
