Did you know heart muscle cells can have multiple nuclei? (See the pic on my profile for an example!) Within each nucleus, there can also be multiple sets of chromosomes (polyploidy). 🧬🧬🧬🧬 This new paper in @jmccardiology.bsky.social describes a new method for assessing ploidy in cardiomyocytes. 🔬
