Death's Daughter Review Death's Daughter by S.A. Barnes tells the story of Jocasta, the spawn of one of the old ones, Death. As the daughter of Death, life has never been easy for Jocasta. She's finally managed to carve out a slice of normality for herself as a student, and even has a messy situationship going with her TA. Ok, so she's feeding off her classmates' negative emotions - no one's perfect!

Rise by Freya Finch Book Review
Rise Review   Rise by Freya Finch focuses on the lives of three Valkyrie sisters who live and work at a Renaissance Faire. Bryn, the youngest, is the narrator and has yet to come into her full powers, much to her irritation. Her two elder sisters seem to have everything worked out and excel at what they do. Whereas her? Not so much.

Hi everyone, I posted an update on my blog about #repDISND, the disabled and neurodivergent representation event that I've run for the past few years. Due to RL and health issues, I am taking a quieter approach to the event this year; posting content on my blog, but less outreach. More details ⬇️

I'm so behind on reviews and the 2025 disabled/neurodivergent books list. I have a nasty sinus infection and of course, my GP surgery has suddenly stopped doing telephone appointments. I tried to get to a morning appointment and failed, and my hEDS has flared resulting in an injured arm.

#DisabledCreators of all stripes! Let’s work together in creating, marketing, selling, etc — @barrowmember.bsky.social and I are gauging interest in a #CripCoop — starting with collecting a list of wants and needs, which then would match with another coop members skills/abilities. Interested?

Are you a #bookseller? Do your #bookshop have a #disability shelf (labelled #disabled or disability, not a euphemism such as special)? If not, why not? There are thousands, maybe millions, of disabled authors to choose from. There's an audience eager for #books. Increase your sales with a #CripShelf

It's the eve of a new year and I am hoping the ableism, including casual ableism decreases next year. I've seen so much judgment this year, especially when people like/do something different. They're not bad, mean, lazy, crazy, etc. Learn to use kinder language.

I was really glad to see Brugada Syndrome in an episode of 9-1-1: Lonestar but urgh, as usual, the writers missed some crucial details and made it sound like the condition is easy to live with. It's not at all.

People complain that TV shows aren't realistic enough, but when they portray something realistic such as toxic workplaces or abuse the writers are accused of "glorifying" the topic. *shakes head*

Not long now until July and repDISND starts! Join us for our fourth year discussing disabled & neurodivergent representation! ♿️ Find out more at geeking-by.net/repdisnd/ ❤️ Please share this post ❤️ A few quick facts below ⬇️
A white graphic with the word 'rep' in lowercase black letters, followed by 'DISND' in capital letters. 'D' is red, 'I' is white, 'S' is yellow, 'N' is blue and 'D' is green. The colours of the logo correspond with the disability flag. Beneath the capital letters in a small black font are the words; Dismantling stereotypes through discussion. Around the logo are small blue arrows pointing to text above the word 'rep' and below the logo. Arrows around 'rep' read; "Why is representation important?", "What does representation mean to you?", "What representation is missing?" and "Amplifying disabled and neurodivergent voices". Arrows below DISND point to "dismantling stereotypes through discussion", "fighting ableism, speaking out, sharing our experiences" and "Online event, interviews, review media, blog guest posts". Above DISND it reads; physical disabilities, hidden disabilities, mental health conditions, sensory disabilities, undiagnosed conditions, neurodiversity.
