I found it slightly encouraging that my mom says I look more puffy than fat, bc maybe I will unpuff with med changes. I mean it’s a combination of the two for sure but to hear from someone who hasn’t seen me in ten months and 40 or 50 pounds it was an interesting tidbit. #LongCovid

I don’t ever forget that I’m sick and disabled. But sometimes I forget HOW sick until I start explaining things to people. Bc the truth is I’m so much better than I was 2-3 years ago. Which if you look at me seems objectively ridiculous. And I was still never as severe as the worst off ME patients.

Clarification bc someone very rightly pointed out — Here we are referring specifically to human blood. HUMAN blood is always red.

My kids are teaching my dad stuff. He’s arguing with them and they’re pulling out books to show him they’re correct. My 12yo is saying, “scientific knowledge changes” (she just wrote an essay on this in school). Today he learned pterodactyls are not dinosaurs and blood is always red.

A student at my kid’s high school tied in a tragic accident a week ago. The school had counselors on hand this week. Today we got emails about mental health resources and a new “5 minutes for safety” initiative. Which will presumably tell these kids to wear seatbelts. I hope they help people.

Me: please clean the bathroom. Kid: we have no paper towels. Me: (orders paper towels) ok. Clean the bathroom when the paper towels come. Sigh. (Also wondering how other child cleaned the other bathroom a few hours ago…?)

Apparently Safeway sells skeleton ducks. My son wants to cover the front yard in said skeleton ducks. My 12yo wants a six ft tall skeleton chicken from the tractor supply store. (It costs $300 so no way). Spouse says “this all sounds like more work for dad” - he is not wrong. #Halloween
