Predictably, every time I give any inclination of how many crates a thing costs or requires or might need, people try to work out how much a crate is actually worth. The answer is always "about 1 crate". Any discrepancies in crate size is due to diegetic crate fraud. Dont worry about it.

One of my favourite bits to come out the Arbor Point Antiquity pregame channels is the Mauran Standard Crate, an entirely tautological unit of measurement used to describe all in game quantities in a way that stops people doing fuck ass maths to poke holes in the world buildings.

One of my favorite and most effective design patterns is "tell the player exactly what you're gonna do to them, then do it." You can be SIGNIFICANTLY meaner to the player if you simply tell them ahead of time that that's exactly what you'll be doing, and also the suspense of the warning is a delight
