Headed east last week for a family event. So good to see the fam, and I had a few days in Philly and Bmore to play tourist and eat all the Jewish food and meander around museums, which I needed. And gorge on crab cakes. And very intentionally avoid visiting DC, which I did not.

Some scary moments yesterday. A hummingbird flew, HARD, into my glass door between my office and deck yesterday. I found it laying on the doormat barely breathing. Did some quick searching online, cut apart a contact lens solution box, nuked some bulgar in an old sock... 🌱

I grew up with a whole house fan in Fresno and that thing was magical. It cooled a 2800sqft house down in 20 minutes (40 years ago)! If I hadn't needed to replace my 80 yr old furnace last year, I probably would have just gotten a whole house fan for cooling rather than a heat pump for heat and AC.

My lit major and humanities minor are where I gained critical thinking, writing, and analytical skills, as well as learning about the importance of context in understanding situations. This morning's rash decision to drive down to Santa Cruz for the day for a wander was an excellent one. Got some new books, a much needed vitamin D fix, and about 9k steps while I wandered around the boardwalk, wharf, and downtown.
