Second talk I’ve seen today about how to get better results with prompts with /plan mode. Vibing your plan thinking is great but then I really suggest you formalise your specs and then build from that + steering + MCP. That’s what we do with Kiro and my results have been so much better.

Lovely to be at ServerlessDays Cardiff. Always a fantastic event. A mix of public sector orgs doing some very impressive Serverless things + others. How about starting with a government Chief Engineer, Dimitris Perdikou.

And how automation was so important for the craft. The early wariness with DevOps & jobs. “Automation: Go away or I'll replace you with a shell script.” Where we landed up being much faster, with safety, but did even more. With parallels obviously with AI.

Julian Wood @julianwood.com · 28/03/2025

Fascinating talk from @jedi.be at @monkigras.com talking about communication as well. “In the land of the blind, everyone blames the other. “ Plenty of tech and cultural lessons in this line which resonate with me.

Interesting point about project communication. More people needing to communicate synchronously requires increasing connectivity = complexity. Direct parallels with using Serverless and asynchronous communication. @iamstan.elmo.sh at @monkigras.com
