@dogsinautumn.bsky.social No tepid Democratic gerontocracy is going to save this republic. We need quick, angry, enlightened fighters eager to cut through the tired ideas of the popular punditry and design a brilliant solution. Our thoughts must have cutting edges!

Many have demanded expanding SCOTUS to 13 justices. I disagreed, advocating impeachment of the bad justices. I thought that was pretty smart until I read Justin Briley's solution. His is the only solution I've seen that effectively addresses the root cause of the problem. After the revolution, this!

It's the old problem: The dog caught the bus. Now what? Lots of organizations working together to thwart the Project 2025 juggernaut. If we succeed, how do we fix the government that crumbled to an out-in-the-open Republican conspiracy? If we don't, this will be worse next time.

AI replacing humans reminds me of an old trope about popular software tools: This does the boring stuff so you can do the creative stuff. If only that were true. The "boring stuff" is just the stuff you aren't doing correctly. Eventually you forget how to do it & then, you're really screwed.

@4thbranchaction.bsky.social So I've been looking for specifics on a 4th branch but I'm seeing no specifics. I came to believe that a 4th branch was needed thru an engineering analysis & suggested a Constitutional Amendment. Who else has proposed detailed solutions?

The members of FDR’s President’s Committee on Administrative Management are happy in heaven! But for the rest of us, the only way to escape presidential autonomy and domination is to remove administrative agencies from direct subordination to the president and create a fourth branch.

So CNN is telling a sort of truth but it is an irrelevant truth. CNN is merely reporting on the game. Journalism is not policing journalism. Lies from OANN are not actively and effectively countered by journalists. That's the problem. Journalism has failed. Maybe it's time for something radical:

I haven't referred to "The Republican Party" since around 2019 since it doesn't do what is expected of a party. It is much closer to a criminal organization. It could be recognized as a crime family as early as 1998 but the tepid Democratic Party failed in its duty to warn and correct.

We’ve been reading the U.S. Constitution aloud at libraries, bookstores and pubs since 2008. Usually ending in energized discussion, lately, some attendees leave angry. One said, “I have more questions than you can imagine.” thru clenched teeth. The No Religious Test Clause seems to be a motivator.

Some of this is in a legal grey area, some is illegal and some is unconstitutional. We are seeing a government wherein the checks & balances no longer function because the only branch with the power to DO anything is our outlaw Executive. We need a branch w/ power to correct the other branches.

AI (whether it "works" or not) cannot replace a human because in the same way that human technical work must be peer reviewed, so must AI technical work. That sounds fairly easy but it isn't:

Absolutely agree. Let's remember that Congress can impeach federal judges. They hold their office "on good behavior". Incompetence is NOT good behavior. 16 fed judges have been impeached and 8 removed from office. Let's get back to that! Is "incompetence" too strong a word?

This is a fascinating proposal wherein Congress claims back departments the Executive is culling. Since the legislature really isn't about execution, it almost cries out for a separate 4th branch of government to manage some of those functions in a less political climate. I have a suggestion.

Boycotting red state distilleries, I've been looking for a blue rye that is as good as Bulleitt. Most northern ryes have this cloying phenolic taste. Well, I've found an excellent New York rye. It passed my Maddow old fashioned test. I recommend it as a blue alternative rye: Great Jones. Try it.

On June 2 we had a beautiful Voice the Constitution at the Henrietta Public Library. Two of the readers were developmentally challenged. Each, though, focused and read their portions perfectly. The room was full of genuine patriotism and palpable human love and respect. It was inspiring.

OK, TLDR for the essay series The U.S. Constitution: An Engineering Assessment: I believe that our Constitution can be amended into a truly useful upgrade: Into a government that includes real self-correction by adding a Fourth Branch. That branch supports a Tax the Rich Regulator. Take a look:
