Nobel for these magnificent people & their work, doing what our complicit govt should be doing. Make sure the archive is beyond the reach of Mossad & CIA. The IDF is currently bulldozing history & carting away thousands of bodies to hide the genocide & prepare for the Trump Golden Gaza Beach Resort.

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich: “The thorough cleansing that we are carrying out now in southern Lebanon is unprecedented. “They have nowhere to return to. Look at how it looks. “And by the way, the world isn’t stopping us.”

You could always model it on the system that stops central government from misusing its powers and wasting public money. Which has always worked so well.

Stupidity of Rejoiners. "Almost half" is not a majority. It is in fact exactly the same % as voted Remain all those years ago.

Genocide. No other word for it. Done with active support of the Labour govt and their zionist pals. War criminals, still in the Cabinet.

Most people know that our armed forces are too small and too badly equipped to fight a war. Few realise they are also extraordinarily incompetent. Eg this ship cost £1bn launched 20 years ago then decommissioned, because the engines don't work in warm seas, so they had to take the engines out and

Excellent new.BBC Blue Lights sees attack on asylum seekers by racist thugs and - gasp! - takes asylum seekers side! In public! Nothing about thugs have 'legitimate concerns'. Shouldn't Mahmoud have the BBC producer arrested as a 'terrorist'?

Burnham's speech fills me with despair, confirming that like so many politicians he's stuck in the last century, when the role of Labour government was to spend the growth generated by successful capitalism on public services and welfare for the most needy. The job of government today is different.

It's nonsense that cancelling the triple lock will pay for social care. Rhe triple lock is unaffordable. If you cancel it, you aren't left with spare money to spend, you're simply avoiding a ballooning and unsustainable deficit. Q is burnham financially illiterate or utterly cynical?

Yet another admirable social benefit announced by Burnham without it being clear how it'll be funded. Is this is all he can offer?

This book's about the most unexpected & worrisome aspect of Trump -the readiness of great American institutions, unis, great law firms & media empires, to bend the knee, some after being threatened but some without any threat, asking him what he would like them to do, & doing it, giving money etc

The 2nd part of 70 Up. Reflections on the immense impact of the series on their lives, their feelings towards Apted, what they make of their lives having lived them, their awareness that the end isn't far off. Apted's own reflections on what he got right and wrong, what he himself learnt.

For some reason I looked just now at Kennedy's 'Ich bin ein Berliner' speech 1968. How they loved him, the crowd. How sure he was of what he stood for. How he gave them hope. And dear God! How far America has fallen! How is it possible for a nation to so completely betray itself? Mystery.

Rumours of a snap General Election if Labour hold Holborn & St Pancras. Reasoning - Labour can't really achieve much by 2029, so it's popularity can only decline. People wonder why centrist parties are failing everywhere......They are failing because they are clinically dead.

"70Up", ITV. Impossibility of summing up for new viewers a dozen lives told in 9 progs over 63 years. Gentleness of probing, by modern standards=many stones left unturned. Difference between @35 talking of how you hope to move forwards v @70 trying to make sense of how you've ended up...

Prediction: Labour suddenly discover that proportional representation is extremely complex and administratively difficult and cost millions and requires extensive consultation and, unfortunately, this means the next election will have to be FPTP once more, what a shame

Do these polls show the Left has finally found the right leader? Or that people are so deeply disillusioned that they rush pell mell from one party to another, not out of belief, but out of sheer desperation?

The chief rabbi's foolish criticism of the govt. (if anyone's making British Jews scapegoats for what Israelis do to Palestinians, it's him) make it necessary to understand the complexity of attitudes of British Jews.A 2025 survey shows a sharp rise in feeling unsafe and perceptions of anti-semitism

Please don't take action against mass murder of Palestinians by Israel. Because the Chief Rabbi will be upset. Not by the nass murder, you understand. But by the UK criticising Israel. Well, he doesnt represent many British Jews, who are appalled by the fascistt entity that Israel has becone.

Can anyone explain the proposition that greater public control of essential services is not merely 'a' way of restoring growth but ' the only' way? How does that work?

It's gradually becoming clear that Burnham is the sort of leader that, in this chaotic, threatening, bewildering new world, we need least: a nostalgist. Restore the high st, reindustrialise, nationalise. A leftish Restore Britain. And just as unrealistic.

A very strange argument. Privatization of essential utilities was a mistake but it's hatdly why growth has stalled. Plenty of ideas for restoring growth: rejoin the EU, increase immigration, tackle the withdrawal from the labour market, reduce taxes on small businesses, simplify planning. .

I'm plenty critical of Burnham & doubted his awareness of justice issues but this is so important. The failure to end IPP sentences was wickedly cruel, contrary to the rule of law & stained the reputation of every Justice Secretary of the last 20 years. Thank god here's a PM who will free them.

The only reason I see against war soon with Russia is - why should they bother? Europe is weaker every year. Soon a Russian stooge in the Elysée, the UK cannot afford adequate forces, Merz indecisive, hugely unpopular. Why bother to fight it, it'll fall apart anyway.

The UK has no missile interceptor system like the US Patriot or Israeli Iron Dome systems. London, or our nuclear power stations, or oil refineries, or nuclear sub base, are defenceless against russian missiles. This is the war we are blundering into.

The RAF have about only 150 combat aircraft but 53 air marshalls/vice air marshalls. The Royal Navy has only 25 combat surface ships but 39 Admirals, rear admirals & vice admirals. Our armed forces are ludicrously inadequate to defend this country. But we outgun Russia in gold braided bureaucrats
