Baseball is so good right now. The Dodgers are a modern dynasty; The Long Beach Coach is having a really fun first season; and the LA Queens are already a great watch a couple games in.

There is a player on the LA Queens, Brittany Apgar, who has a limb difference and traveled back to Illinois from receiving her first ever batting prosthetic *today* and is 3-for-3 in her first game playing with one. Incredibly cool.

I haven’t bought a PS5 and I can’t imagine I’ll entertain the idea of a PS6. It’s not about a boycott or sending a message— it’s about how this ecosystem just isn’t worth it anymore.

There’s so many things coming together to enshittify the PlayStation brand all at once. No discs? Mass layoffs? Weak game output? Sky high prices? Every other month it’s like we get another crappy headline.

We cannot with one breath express disgust at bloat that leads to obnoxious budgets and layoffs and with another say all games must be created 100% from scratch.

Crazy how most of Nintendo’s “Not E3” highlights came from third parties. So many great games coming day and date to Switch 2, often highlighted at shows that weren’t the Direct. I can’t remember the last time that happened!

"The Switch is so old," you all said. "I need better graphics," you demanded. "Wah wah," you cried. And now, you sit here before Slippy Toad, the slippiest he's ever been, slippier than a fucking banana peel under a kart wheel, all thanks to the raw power of the Nintendo Switch 2—and you reject him?

Sometimes it’s Metroid Prime or Wind Waker and fans were being dumb for no reason. Sometimes it’s Metroid Other M and they were right to call out how weird it was. But this change in art style is VERY on brand for them trying to inject juice into a familiar series.

At its best I admire DF for revealing some of the technical tricks behind how some of my favorite games run. At its worst, DF shows me that people don’t play games to have fun, but to admire them as pieces of technical achievement; ignoring artistic vision in the race for AI driven photorealistism

People imagined Joe Biden/Kamala Harris The Warmonger in their heads and ran from there. As said, nothing to do with objective reality. However much you hate Democrats, the possibility they would've just willy-nilly bombed Iran and murdered millions by destroying USAID is infinitesimal.

I've stayed out of speaking on politics because I really don't understand it. I knew I didn't when yards once filled with flags of sports teams or child achievements were replaced with a person's favorite politician. I knew l didn't understand it when I could no longer have civil conversations with long time friends because views were being pushed on me. I've always sat somewhere in the middle and could understand the points raised by both sides but those were personal then and politics is not kept personal or confidential anymore.kole_calho... • 3h | Follow

What this administration is doing when it comes to immigration is blatantly racist, targeting people based on the color of their skin or the sound of their last name. There is a much more civilized way to do this that involves working together with state officials as opposed to inserting the administrations will on a state whose citizens have stood up for their neighbors and said this is not right!kole_calho... • 3h

I've been silent because that is easy. But silence is a privilege and silence is complicit. Standing up and speaking for what you believe in takes courage. I don't care about what side you're on or who you voted for, this is wrong. This is wrong and is imposing on the basic freedoms we have in the country. Wake up! Speak out!

the failure of Dem opposition still comes from the party being without shared beliefs such that the only message they can agree on is affordability. the party as a whole won’t condemn cops. they won’t call for a wealth tax. they won’t call for expansive labor rights. they’re lost but hate the left.
