Time for a repost, now that Bluesky finally supports images of this size. The stripes make the tiger, but how do you make the stripes? #tiger #art #tutorial #SciArt #guide

A tutorial explaining tiger stripes and how they look. The first section covers the head, the second the body, and the third different variants, including a pseudomelanistic one. A main point is that tiger stripes are not straight up and down, but rather that they can split, merge, turn into rows of dots, etc.

He gets what he wants because he makes faces like this. #Horseart #Julearts #Fenfaxi

Four cropped headshots of my OC Fenfaxi at odd angles. This makes him appear more unhinged than usual.

I made sure to include the important bits, i.e. Uru's paunch and Fen's general...rotundity. #Art #OC #Julearts #Urudu #Fenfaxi #OCsky

Coloured digital drawing depicting my two OCs. They're both naked, which for Fenfaxi is acceptable as he is a horse. Urudu looks more like an orange demon, which is perhaps less appropriate for their current activity, which appears to be jogging towards the right.

Chibi version of my OC, Urudu! It is wearing sleek, copper armour and wielding an oversized copper spear. The four eyes on its face all bear a glassy, vacant expression.

Hard for me to work on anything with my current work schedule but the whole point of this is to put clothes on them for a style guide. I get distracted by their general ugliness. #Julearts #Fenfaxi #Urudu #Sketch

Very loose WIP anatomy (ish) sketch of Fenfaxi on the left and Urudu on the right.

Bees 🐝

$This art features 100 bees of various colors and shapes. These bees are designed in a cartoonish style, based on real species. The common name or species is written below the animals. Some bees are moving leaves, scraping plant hair, or sticking out their tongues. Some male bees have hairy faces and unusually shaped legs. There are also baby bees that have just hatched from their petal nests. Cute and colorful atmosphere. There are over 20,000 species of bees, so I only depicted a very small fraction of them!$

I keep seeing people say “yeah but ppl who make weird stuff get passed over/gate kept/shut out/isolated” in response to “make weird art” and that’s true! But the whole point is: make it anyway. Build an honest community with like minded people. Be brave. Be you. Make something that matters.

[ Oleander Hawthorne ] Ofc I need to share my new baby boy Oleander with you all. He's a paladin who never puts off his armor around others and is a stuttering, awkward mess. Those flowers? Well, wouldn't you like to know? 😏 [ #oc | #dnd | #ocsky | #art ]

Oleander Hawthorne is my new DnD Paladin OC which I play in a cmpaign with two other players and our DM. He wears a full plated armor with bits of elegant fabric in a blue-ish hue. The armor has soft flowery vibes to it and is mostly silver. Under it, he wears noble clothes. All around his armors, flowers grow out. Those can change form and shape depending on his emotions.

Look you just have to make the cool weird shit that excites you. You must. In this world besieged by bland, scrubbed boring, computer slop, you must. Make the thing you’re embarrassed to make, the thing that feels “too much” because otherwise we get drowned in a sea of cowardly work made by a button

I did it. Merfolk design for my worldbuilding, and just—barely!—in time. Got a little carried away with the rendering as usual but I like how it turned out! The inspiration for this Beaft is the Atlantic Mackerel. #Art #Artsky #Illustration #Mermay #Merfolk #Mermaid #CreatureDesign #Merrow #Julearts

Illustration of a mercreature. Its face is towards the viewer and bears both fish and humanoid elements, but instead of a neck the chin joins with the gills. Below the gills are a pair of finned arms that take the place of a fish's pectoral fins, between them are a pair of pelvic fins that lead into a standard fish's tail. The eyes are yellow, lidless and angled slightly outwards. The underside is pale, turning into green and blue stripes along the sides, and the fins are a subdued, yellowish shade.

Make a Bad Comic? Buddy, I ain't ever made another kind. #makeabadcomicday #Art #Julearts #Urudu #Fenfaxi #Characters #OCs #TRUELOVE #Comic

A very poorly, loosely illustrated three image comic in monotone depicting two characters. First, Urudu, the armoured character, grips the shoulders of the second character and says, "Fen, there is something DEEPLY wrong with us."
The angle changes to be behind Urudu, showing Fenfaxi's earnestly nonchalant expression. He replies, "I know."
Then they make out sloppy and it's horrific.

My general idea is that the used to stalk and terrorize early nomadic humans, but the domestication of the horse leveled the field enough to about wipe 'em out. Naturally, there are those who seek them out, hoping to find some remnant or otherwise resurrect them. It's a controversial stance.
