1/n I am very much on record as not being an Ofsted fan but this is a worrying direction. This isn't the Premier League. Their primary aim shouldn't Be To Be Fair. It's to drive better schools for children. Bear with me for nuance. www.theguardian.com/education/20...

Just as well those committing wrongs against the RNLI are not holding placards supporting a proscribed organisation, else they would really be in trouble.

@teachertapp.bsky.social I’m surprised at this because I thought that adults had to pay VAT on food purchased at school , so a staff main meal is the same size but costs more due to VAT. Interesting! 🤨

In 1936, "Buzz" Windrip runs a US presidential election campaign promising each citizen $5,000 per year. He wins the election, and of course, the money is never paid. See also Trump. It’s a bribe. Is he acting out this novel?

I’ve reached the point - well actually, I reached it a while ago - where I’m militantly anti-AI. Fine - use it in bioscience labs and radiology where it might help analyse data more effectively. Use it sparingly for systems engineering. Everywhere else, it can fuck off.

Hahaha. We need so much more of this Private Eye style ridicule when it comes to Farage. No one should be taking him seriously any more.
Wildfire in Clacton
AS temperatures soared on Friday, Essex fire authorities reported things were so bad that a man's pants had caught fire.
The individual, identified as Nigel Farage, had claimed Essex police had told him to keep away from his by-election declaration.
"We've never seen such an enormous fire coming from a single pair of Union Jack Y-fronts," said a police spokesman. "We urge members of the public to avoid pants on fire by at least coming up with a half-decent excuse for their cowardice."

That’s a heroic result for Count Binface and lukewarm at best for Farage. Beyond pathetic of him to have demanded this farce at huge cost to the taxpayer and then not even given us the traditional pleasure of seeing him turn up at the count to take his lumps. Very un-British

Top line: Farage will be happy with his raw votes, exceeding 2024 GE total in August by election not contested by other parties shows real enthusiasm. But Binface vote share at higher end of expectations showing as elsewhere opposition is also motivated to turnout against Reform

News that Farage won't attend the declaration in Clacton is no surprise. Like his hero Trump, Farage is a coward. Aggression is not the same as courage. Both men have plenty of the former but none of the latter.
