Jezza twisted my arm and told me all the cool lardies are over here. Wargamer, a little TTRPG, occasional painter. Historical, fantasy and sci-fi.

I definitely need more WW2 Far East type buildings for my Burma CoC project(s). I’ve got some plans over the next 6 months or so but I’ve started by re-painting the thatch on my present huts. Seems to work. #spreadthelard #CoC #wargaming #terrain #15mm

After last weekend's 'Arnhem all the way', we wanted something different and not having played 'flank attack' a lot, we decided to set up Flank attack at St-Germain du Pert from 29 Let's Go. An excellent game was had with a ridiculous German victory. @redandloud.bsky.social #spreadthelard #wargaming

*snrrrrrk* I think you'll find that shade of soil was further south in the burmese campaign, and your grass tufts have the wrong shape of leaf. Get it together John!

Phase 1 of the Napoleonics is complete. Phase 2 will be more cavalry and Phase 3, if I can be arsed, will be some more infantry. Looking forward to getting these on the table at the Borodino game later this month.

Today it's campaign turn 4 on table 3, in the 29 Lets Go psc for Chain of Command. A flanking attack on St Germain du Pert, lots of open ground to cover for those poor yanks! 😳 #spreadthelard

In the 1st game of the #ChainofCommand Jitra campaign, my ‘green’ Indian Army platoon defended the bridge, the Japanese waisted no time moving their Jump Off point up and deploying on to the bridge, they were met by a barrage of fire by dug in sections to make it a costly assault #spreadthelard.

Oathmark: What am I doing today? I’m cutting pieces of plastic sprue and filing it down and adding a wood-like texture to it so I can make a catapult for my Orcs. Still a ways to go, but I’m enjoying this! 😃👍

Todays game was the delaying action at Arthenay, table 2 from the 29 Lets Go pint sized campaign. The US simply ran out of force morale in the last game, so this is campaign turn 3 on table 2 and Colonel Goode is a worried man.

Proof of (hobby) life: a dodgy shot of some WIP daubage on one of the huts from the Pillage starter box. Not entirely sure about the thatch yet, may revisit that at some point. Very nice model, though. Loads of detail. #pillage #wip #miniaturemonday #nerdlings #wargaming #lionrampant #midgard

Yesterday’s game of #SharpPractice saw forces get clogged up in jungle making it troublesome to reach the objectives. Adding to troubles the Leader of the Light Horse who took it into his head to court the boatbuilder’s daughter, undertaking this important objective he was charged in the rear!!

Dux Britanniarum has a shield wall card for the british. Cant remember the details but makes your groups more robust in defence and attack but less manouverable. @jaje7406.bsky.social would know more. I feel it does a decent job.

Sand/bone spray paint on edges, then a sepia wash, and iraqi sand dry brush. Tarmac surface got a dry brush with two shades of grey and then some sepia wash in places and some sandy dry brush randomly. And thats it. Drying time is the slow bit. Rest is pretty quick.

3mm mdf base, chamfered edges, 3mm cork on top. Tear the edges for the rough edging. Pva glued, then some cork chips at that rough edge and fine sand. Spray painted black. Covered the edges in matt varnish & pva mix to seal as spray paint didnt seem to hold it down well.
