There's clearly a massive office in D.C. now, hundreds of young men solely dedicated to dreaming up things that will make life as difficult as possible for as many people as possible, for absolutely no reason except that they find it fun.

But unfortunately, victorious Dems will probably not do that, instead talking only of grocery prices.

This is a fine group, I’m sure, but an appeal to “your therapist” as your anti-AI message assumes access to the very thing people are so desperately lacking. Care is expensive and isolation is ordinary. Capitalism leaves people desperate for connection, then sells them a simulation of it.
An ad on a subway for an anti-AI action group:

This is a fact. The data is unambiguous and the solutions exist. The only thing missing is the will to act.

To the people complaining these sex abuse cases have created a world where men now have to think 10 times before they touch a woman. Yes, that's the point. It's called consent. Welcome to human decency.

Liberal MP Sean Casey was demoted by Mark Carney last week after voting in favour of Jenny Kwan’s Bill C-233, the No More Loopholes Act. When will the Liberals stop punishing MPs for doing their job—and finally act to close this loophole?

Sure, buddy. He's with CHF BC, supposedly the org. representing co-ops, which we pay dues to. Yet CHF's official position is that Vancouver forcing well-run co-ops on city land to charge themselves exorbitant housing charges is just fine. So we'll leave, & developers can move in. No thanks.

New — I had the opportunity to see NAZA, the documentary freaking out the Israeli government because of its horrifying firsthand descriptions of the way the IDF has used AI to target and massacre Palestinian civilians. My thoughts on the film’s damning revelations, and the banality of evil:

I saw the documentary the Israeli government doesn’t want you to see
'NAZA' dispels once and for all the myth that the IDF didn't target civilians in Gaza.

one common thread (among the horrifying many) between the numerous ICE shootings/murders is that no first aid was administered to the victim. armed combatants of the government shot to kill, and if they didn’t kill right away, they gave time for it to happen anyway. it is absolutely grotesque.

“privatization doesn’t mean prices will go up,” they told us last week. but of course they will, and they’re starting to have to admit it. the reason why investors are so desperate to get our airports is precisely because they know they’ll be able to make monopoly profits.

Because Carney has a lock on everything as a ConservaLiberal. And with a thousand rightwing parties splitting any vote against him, same with Eby. So they can afford to say f*ck you to all us, and unfortunately they get away with it. Money talks and drowns out everything else.
