My second favorite film of all time. It’s absolutely flawless.

Best wishes to my wonderful club @corkcityfc.ie this evening as they lift the first division trophy. I’m going to try and hold it together. Pictured here earlier in the week with the great Liam Kearney , club legend , football brain but above all an absolute gentleman.

Just finished Spiderman man brand new day. I’ve always loved Spiderman but i absolutely hated this movie. So boring , plotless , with aimless cameos. I’m so disappointed by it. I’m almost angry by how much I disliked it. I’m stunned.

I pity those people. They dont seem the realise that the real magical value is in the book itself.

some Man for one Man. Liam Kearney @corkcityfc.ie A proper gentleman.

I’m pushing back a bit. I think he is one of the finest actors alive. I also think that it we wasn’t up to his eyeballs in Xenu and other intergalactic gobshites that he would be way more critically revered.

If you ever struggle with getting a sense of the passing of time ponder this. The Armand Van Helden remix of Tori Amos’s Professional Widow is 30 years old. Jaysus.

Not tagging you was an oversight ! Much love x

JP Quinn @jpquinn78.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Agreed. I’ve seen it so many times i always say to myself it’s so silly , it shouldn’t work but I always enjoy the rewatches. And I first saw it when I was 16 and it was like nothing I’d ever seen before. The kind of sequel Shock Treatment is skippable though.

JP Quinn @jpquinn78.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

I wrote down a prediction that I thought you’d hate it so I got that wrong for the most part. I adore it but I also agree with Cethan. The best set pieces are in the first half of it and it kind of drags for the last half hour but you are spot on about Curry. He’s worth the admission price alone.

And also much love to my auntie Bernie @scarpetta.bsky.social who has given me a blueprint for how to be a compassionate , principled decent person.

I’m very saddened today to hear of the passing of Elmarie Mawe in Cork. A lovely person and a great advocate for the arts and writers in Cork. Rest in Peace Elmarie

I’m looking forward to that. I kind of feel if Cruise wasn’t into Xenu and the intergalactic beings he would celebrated as on of the best to ever do it. I adore him as an actor.

Other end of that. We were abroad with the twins about two years ago ( nearly 4 now) and someone who hadn’t seen my wife in about 25 years told her that her Grandchildren were adorable. That conversation ended quickly as well.

There is a whole genre of 80/90s action movie that has been relegated to the video shop bin of history.

010

JP Quinn @jpquinn78.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

I think history will be a lot kinder to Van Damme. Some of his work is really really good fun. The meta film JCVD is extremely good.

JP Quinn @jpquinn78.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

Spot on Gra. seen it dozens of times gone to live screenings and live shows. even dressed up ( once ). As much about the participation as it is about the film hard to judge movie as a stand alone piece of work. Tim Curry is absolutely incredible in it. One of my all time favorite performances.

130

JP Quinn @jpquinn78.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

I adore it. I’m very keen to hear what you think of it. ( I’m going to write down my prediction in my notes app)

I saw a post on Facebook someone shared suggesting that a building with people in it be burned to the ground. I reported it to Facebook and they came back and said “ no violation has occurred and the post won’t be removed “. Definitely deactivating.

Hey. You know what. Check in on the people you love. The world is a hard place. Maybe we should all just be a bit kinder to each other. That’s not a bad place to start.

Very excited to bring my 3 years old son to Turners Cross to see @corkcityfc.ie Men’s team play today. Last month he went to see the women’s team play and he is so excited to return this evening. My heart is so full.

I really really didn’t like it. Didn’t sit well with me at all. And I’m nearly being excommunicated from the horror community for saying that.
