I don’t want to sound alarmist, but this genuinely concerns me. Trump refusing to rule out emergency powers before the midterms, combined with Hegseth removing senior military leaders, deserves serious scrutiny. I hope it amounts to nothing but this isn’t something I’m comfortable dismissing.

The Fed just voted 12–0 to RAISE rates because inflation remains elevated, and Trump’s response is to demand rates of 1% or less while declaring a trade deficit is simply a “loss.” A trade deficit is imports minus exports—not a national profit-and-loss statement. This is Economics 101!

This is a pretty important reminder for Trump: being president does not make you king. Even with a conservative Supreme Court, there are still legal and constitutional limits on executive power. He can push, threaten and test the boundaries all he wants, but sometimes the answer is still simply: no.
