Larimore got to meet Dolly in 2004. “Whenever she leaned over, she put them big old Smoky Mountains on my shoulder, and she held me close,” Larimore said. “It was as if I was the only person in the world.”

The 16-year-old who died was May Pollard. She went by Jane Doe in the lawsuit, because she didn't want to be an activist. She just wanted to be a teen girl who played Terraria with her friends and ran a Discord dedicated to the streamer Jerma985. 3/ www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

Congress granted funds to restore 988 services for LGBTQ+ youth months ago. But it's still gone. Here's what it looks like when a service like this is ended; almost 70,000 people reaching out for help, then a cliff.
This image shows an area chart demonstrating that calls, texts or chats to 988 by LGBTQ+ youth seeking specialized services through "option 3" rose continuously from September 2022 to July 2025 — then suddenly dropped down to zero, since the option was discontinued. The visualization looks like a cliff.

Gay rodeo has made me feel more alive than I've felt in a long time. Competing is fun, but the best part has been the friends and mentors I've found. Some of these people have fought to keep the rodeo around for 40+ years — they are LGBTQ+ leaders and activists. 8/
