Less depressing, though, is the stalling of the Reform bandwagon in both Makerfield and Aberdeen, and the probable return of Labour & Tories as the main parties of the union. The Tories are pretty dire, but they’re not as bad as Reform/Restore, on the racism/division front.

Ooft. Well that almost guarantees a leadership contest, & months of uncertainty in UK government, all to produce a new leader who will probably be no better than Starmer, and in some areas possibly worse. This feels like a victory for right wing media, sowers of chaos, and I find it depressing. 1/2

If our broadcasting regulator Ofcom was worth tuppence, that channel would be off the air. It poses as a news channel while spreading disinformation, legitimising far right talking points, and acting as a non-stop party political broadcast for Reform and Restore. Shameful.

Ultimately, what this is about is taking the issue of migration out of the hands of the courts, of the law, and putting it back in the hands of politicians, like before 1948. Is there ANYONE other than the irredeemably ignorant, or actively racist, who thinks this is a sound idea?
