Total bummer for my nightly doom-scrolling of celebrity fashions and millenial woman woes, but unfortunately it is true that "this attack surface is asymmetric. The playing field of the social media informational environment is uneven, and it systematically benefits autocracies." 😔

The entire notion of a "common-sense filter" on a per-capita basis is everything that's wrong with "AI literacy" and "AI adoption" plans. Suddenly, we're all supposed to *rely on* everybody having sound judgment and taking the time to "learn" and "review"?? Please. www.cbc.ca/news/busines...

Great piece by Graham Webster. It's not "all in on open weights" when "security and controllability" are also being taken about.

New office job rule: if you do more work fixing someone's bad AI-generated work, you give them a yellow card, they get demerit points & eventually lose their AI license (ask me how). But if you're amazing at using AI *and* checking AI outputs to perfection, you get a free pizza & donut every Friday.

My husband took 2 months of paid family leave after our baby was born and it was absolutely instrumental for my physical and mental health after birth. I don't have data on it but I'm convinced that fathers taking more parental leave would lower the rate of postpartum depression significantly.

This is so insane. Groceries are unaffordable so let's use pesticides that Health Canada has already deemed unsafe in order to have more and cheaper groceries?? Oh and/but, don't worry: cabinet would not use these new measures "if there are health hazards attached to them"???
