Or maybe you made corrections on the website and forgot to do it here? (I'm looking at the article URL.) Anyway, perpetual neighborly reminder that AP style does not have your back on this:
Screenshot of post from official AP Stylebook social media account:
"Avoid the vague jargon "officer involved" for shootings and other cases involving police. Give specifics. If police use the term, ask for detail. How was the officer or officers involved? Who did the shooting? If the information is not available or not provided, say so."

Happy solstice, everybody.
Winter Night (by Edna St. Vincent Millay):
Pile high the hickory and the light
Log of chestnut struck by the blight.
Welcome in the winter night.

The day has gone in hewing and felling,
Sawing and drawing wood to the dwelling
For the night of talk and story-telling.

These are the hours that give the edge
To the blunted axe and the bent wedge,
Straighten the saw and lighten the sledge.

Here are question and reply,
And the fire reflected in the thinking eye.
So peace, and let the bob-cat cry.

While this isn't a brazen use of "officer-involved," I'd say the Associated Press Stylebook's reminder to answer the question "Who did the shooting?" is applicable. Seems relevant! ...Good ol' exonerative mood.

I think he makes a great companion/update to the traditional image I think of as Consternation Cat:
Two photos in sequence of an adorable white-and-tabby cat wearing tiny round glasses and a bow tie, paws up on a desk, looking at a computer. First image: A normal, resting expression, as if the cat is reading. Second image: An expression of total affronted disgust, ears back, open mouth, hissing. Whatever the cat just read is contemptible.

I didn't do much for Halloween, but I did throw on a very lazy skully-face to hand out chocolate to the locals. Sat outside with a beverage (hence the absence of mask) and pointed the revelers at the candy. We had LED candles and partner put music on a bluetooth speaker. A good night.

@kateschapira.bsky.social, thank you for reposting Bayan's fundraiser! Here's your photo—the big gnarly commuter artery that cuts off a bunch of Baltimore neighborhoods from areas to the north, most notably one of the city's best parks. Good news: there *is* a planned project to improve this.

Again, Baltimore, regarding Question H: NO. Vote against, and know that the measure itself is part of the same corporate rot actively destroying your legacy newspaper (among other things). David D. Smith and Sinclair Media are explicitly right-wing actors doing all they can to crush community power.

Was away from internet/good cell signal a bit last week, (Cleveland and then) in WV for good-and-hard times with family, traditional dip in the Ohio river, camping, best meals I eat all year, bugs, wasp sting, jokes, sweat, blood, tears, etc. Image offerings with respect for...all that: (CW spider)

A still frame from The Adventures of Pete & Pete, in bright, sunny, '90s TV colors and endearingly low resolution. An ice-cream man, just out of fram, holds out three dish-soap-blue popsicles. You can see his hands, the treats, and the three kids—two redheaded boys and a dark-haired girl.
