It’s kinda startling how you can’t reliably use the open internet to find information anymore. The AI generated response is up top, then it’s 2-3 pages before finding a back up source that isn’t an AI website. Simply wondering ‘how long does homemade infused olive oil last’ is such a headache now.

Finally gave the new Scowl album a few full play throughs. Pretty extreme genre leap for the band. Best way I can describe it is that it sounds like a less polished Garbage album (not really a criticism, it’s nearly impossible to out-polish Butch Vig).

The judges are surely aware of the fragility of their own authority in the face of outright defiance by a rogue executive, particularly in a moment when Congress has shown no disposition to defend constitutional separation of powers. For that reason, judges may be reluctant to deploy their contempt power assertively. But this is not the time for judicial timidity. With each passing day, America's constitutional regime and the capacity of its government erodes further. And with each passing day, the practical ability of the courts to stop, or even materially hinder, the catastrophe diminishes. If there is to be a test of wills between law and Trumpism, it must come now, or it will be too late.
That said, the rest of us need to understand that if Trump successfully defies the courts, the only remaining obstacle to dictatorship will be public revulsion, national popular protest, and the hope that such a reaction would cause Trump to retreat and, at long last, recall some fraction of the Republican Party to its constitutional duty.

Sadopopulism - a political strategy or occurrence in which a leader appeals to people by harming them but making them believe that people they hate are at fault and/or are being harmed worse.

This is the crux of many face to face conversations I’ve had with people over the last few weeks. Dem or Rep, if they haven’t been paying attention, are still under this belief.

I'd like to see more writing on how the Musk/Trump junta feels like a frontal attack on the entire concept of virtue, in even the most traditional senses. They are actively demonizing and punishing everyone who doesn't worship Mammon.

This pedalboard was, unfortunately, only useable by those with tiny toddler feet. I do think these keeley workstations sound cool though. The harmonic trem on the mod workstation is killer, if I can ever remember how to find it #musiciansky #pedalboard

Couple more pics of this one. Quite enjoyed not having a ‘modulation’ pedal (is the data corrupter a mod or fuzz?), just lots of gain staging and delay. Used the King of Tone’s multijacks for pre-gain and post-gain boost. #pedalboard #musiciansky

This was a superb pedal. Quacktastic autowah with a tube drive. Probably would have had a permanent place on my pedalboard if not for the weird proprietary power plug in the side of the pedal. #pedalboard #musiciansky #guitar

Just four months after his release from Russian prison, Evan Gershkovich has the lead byline on an incredible story about the ultrasecret Russian agency behind his kidnapping. He and the Journal identified the precise individuals involved. Astonishing. www.wsj.com/world/russia...
DKRO leaders also enjoy rare access to Putin himself. One of the few Russian officials privileged enough to play ice hockey with the president is the head of the FSB’s first service, which oversees DKRO, Lt. Gen. Vladislav Menschikov. He personally briefed Putin before and after my arrest, the Journal reported while I was incarcerated. Barely known outside a small circle of Russia analysts, the spy chief previously ran the presidential directorate responsible for Russia’s nuclear bunkers.

His subordinate, who runs DKRO itself—the goateed Lt. Gen Minaev—has a hands-on role in selecting which Americans to arrest, and which Russians to trade them for. Awarded the prestigious Hero of Russia medal for bravery during Russia’s war in Chechnya, he is described by intelligence chiefs who have met him as frighteningly perceptive. “He understands everything about his environment—everything,” said one Western officer who has met him several times. “He knows immediately who is a shark and who is a pussy.”

Minaev usually stays in the shadows, but he was present from the beginning to the end of the Aug. 1 swap. I first saw him when I was escorted from the Lefortovo prison onto a gray coach with other prisoners on the morning of the exchange. At 10:30 a.m., Minaev climbed aboard and stood at the front, resting his arms on the backs of two seats on either side of the aisle. He was a representative of the FSB, he announced, and we prisoners were gathered for an exchange. He didn’t give his name.
