& to be extra super clear: i only want to see more masks in the world bc as of now, very few other tools do what a mask can, at least at the levels they’re presently implemented. i too would love us all to have to mask less bc systemic mitigations have picked up the slack, but we’re not there yet.

Just to spell this out… You need ID to vote in Kansas. For most, that means a driver’s license. Kansas has canceled valid licenses of people who’d updated their gender marker. Many of those affected will need new licenses to be able to vote. A new license costs $16. = Poll tax on trans people.

I can't emphasize how radical this all is. There's never been a bill to mass invalidate driver's licenses at this scale. It will create immense fear for trans people. They could be pulled over and arrested for driving with an invalid license. They could be ratted out by people around them.

PSA: There’s a difference between wearing a mask or respirator & wearing a gaiter or face covering to disguise identity.
