I don't think it would matter what the ratios of atmospheric gases were since they're all transparent to the visible spectrum. If anything, the sun would be just as bright but the sky might have been a bit less blue.

A year after rebranding 343 Industries to Halo Studios they're now a support team for the next Halo game. I don't know if any company is more dedicated to the belief that devs are totally fungible than Microsoft, even as that belief continuously fails to work.

Yeah, get out there and make sure everyone knows you think that comic is about you! Really let us know whoever else we might have thought of is completely wrong and solidify your position as the Bloodless Quant in our minds! You didn't "well actually" your way to fame to lose that title now!

Yeah, there is only a picture of the phrase from an IBM training manual and no copies of the original manual have been found to determine the author or who originated the phrase. So something like "IBM Training Manual, 1979" is probably the best citation.

Thankfully the UK government is known for clear, concise, and consistent definitions so there won't be any problems with shifting boundaries on which sites are considered social media. For instance, Discord's classification is so unambiguously obvious it would be ridiculous to even say it!

Almost everyone knows of Pokemon Go but you're right that this is Niantic's whole thing to the point where they made 2 location-based AR games before Pokemon Go and at least r more after based on Pikmin, Harry Potter, and Monster Hunter. Literally all they do is gamify location data collection.

I'm in the US and would also have to use a VPN because my state is one that also requires an ID to view adult content. It's absolutely bonkers that I have to VPN to another part of the country to access DMs or see supposedly adult content.

Jordan @jordanclock.bsky.social · 30/05/2026

For people in states that now require ID verification for adult content, this also means those accounts are just straight up invisible. It's like I'm blocked by every account they've deemed adult content just because I won't hand over my ID.

They don't even care if a game has a pride flag, PoCs, or anything progressive. They flood the Steam forums and troll them all the same. Relevancy or accuracy have no bearing.

I don't think Steam forums are talked about enough in terms of the places on the internet where the worst people congregate. Just some of the most egregious bigotry of every flavor and every game has its own forum by default with basically no moderation.

I like to think of EA vs non-EA as "how unfinished of a game am I willing to accept?" because almost every game was released "unfinished" if we consider how much gets left out to meet release dates. EA just puts a flashing sign on how incomplete a game is.

Here is the relevant section of the Mental Health Services Act that you are referring to and indeed it is a progressive tax, just like you are describing and like any other income tax.

SECTION 12. Section 17043 is added to the Revenue and Taxation Code, to read:
17043. (a) For each taxable year beginning on or after January 1, 2005, in addition to any other
taxes imposed by this part, an additional tax shall be imposed at the rate of 1% on
that portion of a taxpayer’s taxable income in excess of one million dollars
($1,000,000).
