Beck’s return to windswept folk-rock is frequently beautiful, even as it produces diminishing returns.

I try not to be a harsh slush-pile editor, but come on. if you don't take the small amount of time to follow our submission directions, why should I give you an extended amount of time reading your pages, let alone how much time I'll spend editing and platforming your work?

Just two more days before we close submissions for our third poetry issue, “After the Fire, the Garden.” Read our guidelines and how to submit here: www.ceteramagazine.com/themed-poetr...
Themed Poetry Call:
"After the Fire, the Garden"
Deadline: August 20, 2026
Cetera Magazine's third digital poetry issue turns toward aftermath. Toward the altered ground left behind by rupture. And the strange forms of life that begin there.
"After the Fire, the Garden" is an issue about what grows after devastation. We're interested in poems that understand renewal as complicated and unsentimental and achingly alive. The fire may be literal or symbolic. Ecological disaster, family fracture, illness, exile, political violence, spiritual crisis, heartbreak, inheritance, collapse.
The garden does not promise that everything has been healed. It is merely what takes root in damaged soil.

Labeling Tim Pool as “moderate” is such bullshit, even for Jubilee. Explicit MAGA partisans are not moderate. He’s invoked the prospect of an American “civil war” dozens of times. He called Ukraine “one of the greatest enemies of our nation.” He doesn’t hold moderate views or support moderates. GTFO

I hope TONY makes a billion dollars at the box office, thanks.
Screenshot of a Letterboxd review for the 2026 film Tony by Jon Negroni. The review reads: “Every great bullshit artist eventually runs into someone who doesn’t care about your story, only whether you can keep up. That’s the kitchen waiting for Tony Bourdain. Matt Johnson wisely leaves the greatest hits on the shelf and heads for the dish pit instead, where burnt hands, busted egos, and fish guts carry more dramatic weight than destiny ever could. Dominic Sessa understands the assignment. He doesn’t play a legend in waiting. He plays a skinny kid with expensive words, cheap confidence, and just enough charm to keep digging himself into deeper clam-filled holes. Every lie buys him another day. Every shift silently teaches him something a book never could.
