Why is this so difficult for Trump and his mates to understand. Oh what, they do you say... and they don't care, well who knew!

I'd say "Something for nothing" culture is getting paid £100,000 a year of public money, plus expenses, for a job that you then fail to turn up to for months on end

A tax dodger, a climate change denier and an entitled prick walk into a bar. The barman says "Good evening Mr Tice".

Rightly angry piece from @iandunt.bsky.social about the Populist Right BS that followed the awful Henry Nowak murder case and how the media/national conversation has been drawn into it. iandunt.substack.com/p/an-abysmal...

If you say "I support Palestine Action", they might put you in jail. If you incite a racist riot, they put you on the news.

I've just sent a few quid to the charity that have helped a dignified bereaved family who's wishes were deliberately ignored by Farage and other racists. If you can afford to, please do so as well.

I have a student son Henry Nowak’s age & I can’t imagine what it took for his family to respond outside court with the grace they did, asking that their son’s death not be used for division and hate. That Reform & Restore chose to throw that back in their faces makes me feel sick.

In Wigan, Reform won 96% of seats on 46% of the votes. In Westminster, the Conservatives won a majority on 35%, while @greenparty.org.uk won 18% of the votes without gaining a single seat. We can’t let this happen in 2029 The time to change the voting system is *now* @makevotesmatter.bsky.social

Fox hunting is a revolting sport. It's only survived in any form because it's done by ghastly, entitled, influential and aristocratic people who feel it's the God given right to charge about the place in silly costumes tearing animals apart for no good reason.

The Lib Dems have told supporters "we are the only party with the conviction to stand up and fight for what we believe in" by still backing proportional representation, "not because it benefits us, but because we think it’s right" "We must not, and will not, give up the fight for electoral reform."

'Honest Bob' Jenrick, a politician obviously & deliberately embracing xenophobia, does some weapons grade xenophobia & the BBC *apologises* for a Thought For The Day contributor calling it xenophobic. Licence fee payers need to know who makes these decisions & why. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

A timely reminder that no matter how tiny, irrelevant and irredeemably out of office they’ve become, the modern Tory Party is still graced with some of the least pleasant humans on earth.

Bruce MacKinnon, the editorial cartoonist at the Halifax Chronicle-Herald, drew this last November. No newspaper would print it. It now deserves an outing.
A cartoon is headed “How tariffs work”. It proceeds to show a cartoon of Trump in his suit and red tie taking a piss towards a fan with a Canadian maple leaf on it. The fan blows Trump’s piss back into his face.
It was drawn and is signed by Bruce MacKinnon and is dated November 26, 2024

The continued fascination with the ghastly Mitford sisters is rooted in England's fawning admiration for very rich, very posh self-regarding arsehats. I can understand why Nancy remains famous but the others? Diana, in particular, was a truly dreadful human being.

BBC’s Chris Mason calls Farage a “master of storytelling” Maybe the BBC could stop helping him out and tell another story. One about a grifting prejudiced conman who’s wrecked our country with his ‘Breaking Point’ Brexit but has never been held to account for the lies he’s told, the damage he’s done.

Ffs why have they dragged Therese Coffey out of her coffin to go on Newsnight and say absolutely nothing of any substance just like she has done for the last 14 years.
