Brief moment of genius for the upcoming Statto Complete Basketball demo beta: temporarily changing the title

The title for the upcoming game Statto Complete Basketball, but it's for the beta demo version, so it reads "Incomplete Basketball"

@nmfc women have played 97 matches since entering the AFLW with a winning record of 77-20. Only losing head to head matchup is against Melbourne 6-5. North have not lost a single match to 11 of the other teams.

I saw at least two articles suggesting Hull's season target should be avoiding Derby County's record lowest points total of 11. They are 50% of the way there with 36 matches to play

New from me: Until recently, the gap between comfortably-off and just-getting-started could plausibly be crossed in a decade or two of hard work. Growth in asset prices means that’s no longer true: even a lifetime of striving doesn’t offer a realistic prospect of feeling you’ve “made it”.

Croatian language lession. Hajdukati - tj. "Hajduk je hajdukao" - to be eliminated from a competition in simultaneously the stupidest and most painful way possible, over and over and over again

It's an odd metric, though. Argentinian and Paraguayan players make up more than 50% of MLS minutes played. If Egypt didn't collapse against Argentina, the Egyptian league would be in 6th

Simply no way you should be disallowing a goal 20 seconds after a very soft foul 90 yards away

Anyone who has asked about anything world cup related has had to listen to me rant about how snicko should not be used to decide anything To me the only curious thing is that Croatia somehow lost to snicko in an important match before Hajduk

I would not be surprised at all if England work hard to break through in the second half and then concede a second on the break

DR Congo only got 0.06 expected goals from their goal, which just shows xG is not good enough to take into account being in a one-on-one with Pickford

I do believe completely stopping during your run-up should cause a re-kick much like coming off your line too early should cause a re-kick

Meanwhile while the reserve moves to Scotland I get to watch Livaković at Dinamo again. Maybe with Oršić. Maybe they'll beat Dragovoljac together 8:0 again (albeit no Šutalo or Baturina.) Maybe VAR will take 8 minutes to decide the 8th goal was onside again

I'll have to watch it again but I still don't know how that would have been offside when the US goal against Australia was onside

Third place finishers could throw a spanner in the works, especially if it's Senegal, but generally USA has a straightforward path to the quarterfinals. Belgium appear to be the worst best non-host team and that's who the USA would get in the round of 16.

John Holden @johnholden.bsky.social · 17/06/2026

Not the result I was hoping for at all but a lot of optimism to take out of that match. Far too many mistakes which led to every single goal, our transition defense isn't fast enough, and still no one who you think you could rely on to score an equalizer or match winner when needed...
