Why does #LocalGov matter? Cross Border Interviews digs into this question and more by interviewing municipal elected folks from across Canada. Thanks Chris Brown for inviting me on to talk about my role on council and the community I’m proud to serve: www.crossborderinterviews.ca/post/854-par...

Great summer vibes at the first annual Forks n’ Tunes Food Festival in #Parksville! 🎶🍔 Great to see the Coastal Community Credit Union parking lot and Memorial Plaza come alive with amazing food, great music, and a fantastic community feeling.

A beautiful day to officially open the restored labyrinth in Parksville Community Park. Big thanks to the volunteers who brought their vision to Council and to everyone who helped re-create this special place. A lasting gift for our community. #Parksville #Labyrinth

June 1 is #WildSalmonDay It's hard to think British Columbia without thinking Salmon! Wild salmon need cold, clean water. But when rivers and oceans warm, get polluted, or blocked, their survival is at risk. Let's protect wild salmon for now and future generations. wildsalmonday.com

Lots of positive things in the works at the Parksville & District Chamber of Commerce. I got to hear all about it at the AGM this week.

Another successful AVICC convention in Nanaimo! It's a great opportunity to network with local government people from across Vancouver Island and coastal communities, debate policy, learn new things, and sharpen my skills to deliver for #Parksville.

Attending the Federation of Canadian Municipalities meetings virtually this morning (and yesterday). #FCM serves as a vital platform for municipalities across Canada to advocate to the federal government. In these times, collaboration has never been more crucial! 💪

It was a snowy but beautiful walk to council meeting today. On a day like today, summer seems far away but council approved a one year trial for city staff to manage food trucks in the Community Park. (Periodic reminder: If you have questions or feedback on City of Parksville matters, reach out)

Many memories of my 3 kids with Sandy Shores Skating Club at Oceanside Place Arena. That's why it was fun honour to represent #Parksville Mayor and Council in handing out medals at the 2025 Skate Canada BC/Yukon Territory Super Series Sectionals! Congrats SSCC for hosting a successful event!🏅⛸

Saddened to hear of former Premier John Horgan's passing. In a time when politics often divides, he prioritized province over party. He exemplified leadership: willingness to listen, working to find common ground, and taking responsibility. Thanks for your service to British Columbia. #bcpoli
