I do think Nick is being set up to be the fall guy if the season goes poorly (not sure if that’s the right term if I’ve wanted him fired for 3 years and haven’t stopped), but I’m still not sure if it’ll go poorly… even with a bad loss I expect to happen versus the Rams

There’s a world- it may be the one we live in now- where Howie has gradually been slipping by deviating from his best practices like (1) doing in-season extensions, (2) prioritizing long-term developmental players over washed vets with low ceilings. I expect him to course-correct, of course.
