I live in Leicester. It's just over an hour on the train to London. Yay! Except if I want to go to London for an event that starts at 9:30am and return in time to see my kids before bed it's… £209. For a 1 hour 8 min train return ticket. UK train companies are taking the piss.

Very curious to try it on an actual hardware device but at least in the simulator Hour by Hour is feeling pretty cool on iPhone Duo!

Because I'm a nerd, chopping always reminds me of GPU programming. Embarrassingly parallel baby.

Okay so the fold is in the wrong place but it's pretty cool! (Also ignore the test title 😅)

Let's go! Not a bad starting point for the iPhone Duo version of hour-by-hour.app

It's a fun and interesting read, seeing someone with a wealth of experienced outside of games get started with Godot! Feels like a backwards version of me playing with app dev in Swift 😃 Also, this jumped out at me and rung very true:

I believe that connecting with users/customers/players on a more authentic and emotional level is going to become increasingly important. This is not an easy to thing to do in general. Games are this unique mix of technical, art, play, and storytelling. I think that combination is compelling on its own, but it also has some inherent advantages when it comes to emotional connection.

I'd already prepped this in anticipation of the iPhone Duo announcement, guess the work won't go to waste 😃 interested to see how easy it'll be to adopt the new vertical toolbar

hmmmmmmmmm. I have mixed news on this I'm afraid. - I initially got 2x notifications, one for each network - when I went into the thread, indigo seemed initially unaware that it was a cross thread - but when I found the thread on my unified timeline, I was able to cross reply

I love this little drum machine! Anyone know if there's something similar as an app, ideally also with a little bit of synth/melody capability too? I love its overall simplicity and accessibility but it leaves me wanting more! Also the latency is slightly annoying benjaminmullins.tv/808/

1) Good news! 2) Look at how awesomely seamless the cross-social-network quote posting is in Indigo by @anilineapps.bsky.social

Hour by Hour hasn't been *wildly* popular thus far, making it feel all the better when I get a nice review on the App Store ❤️ The people who discover it seem to love it! hour-by-hour.app

“genuinely worth it, no subscriptions, just a one time payment for the price of lunch. clean interface and aesthetic!” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've also added a much requested Ideas & Actions panel, which helps demonstrate everything that Substage can do, while allowing quick access to frequent commands that can be favourited and reused.

My favourite new feature is Rules, allowing powerful customisation - for example with a trigger word like "website" you can say "when resizing images for my website, make them 1000px wide" Here's another example which adds details about how to optimise a video for YouTube upload:

Super excited to release Substage 1.0 today! It's a HUGE update. 🖋️ Blog post: joethephish.me/blog/substag... Substage is a little Mac app that puts a command bar underneath your Finder windows, allowing you to manipulate files and more, by converting your requests to Terminal commands.

During the #WWDC keynote I thought the new Maps flyover feature looked like gaussian splats/nerf but now I don't think so - it just looks like a higher detail version of the existing technique with support for transparency. Looks nice from a distance, less good close up!

A very early website design for inkle (2011). I don't think it ever quite looked like this, but the old skeuomorphism did make me smile when I stumbled over it this morning 🙂 You can already see the joined papery aesthetic that made it into Frankenstein and Sorcery!
