Good news from the Badlands! Today, October 6, Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation, a Lakota nonprofit based on the Pine Ridge Reservation, plans to return 50 bison to nearly 40,000 acres in the Stronghold area of Badlands National Park.

Birders, photographers, hikers, etc in PA. There’s new safety regulations for all visitors to PA game lands during hunting seasons. The rule is a minimum of 250 square inches of fluorescent orange, so basically a hat & vest will work in most situations. #pennsylvania #birding #photography #hiking

Michigan just reported two cyclosporaisis deaths related to the Taylor Farms outbreak. A note on underlying health conditions- they’re very common, and >60% of people have at least one. So don’t fall for the “but they had underlying conditions” argument to downplay risk. Most of us do.
